"ank12 - These are not "hacked accounts" where someone breaks in and steals access, they are phished accounts where someone tricks someone else into putting their username and password into a fake login screen. Then phishers start spamming it up. The scary part is that you often get phished off clicking on a link that points to a page that looks just like the Twitter log in screen. Just remember if you are already logged in to twitter, don't log in again... and always, always no matter what the website is, look at the address in your address bar before typing in your username and password." - Mike Seidle
