I use the OPML Editor for everything. The same way Stallman uses his editor for everything. It's a programming environment, database, CMS, feed reader, authoring tool. I write Scripting News in the OPML Editor. I also do a lot of editing work for FriendFeed, Identi.ca and Twitter in there.

It runs on Mac and Windows. I use the Mac version mostly, but I just bought an Asus EEE PC that runs Windows, which is pulling me in that direction now, and giving me a way to clean everything up.

speaking of editors, what's the best program for a new developer to get to start writing/compiling C programs?
- Zach Underwood
Marcos, please do a port to Linux!! Make my day. I'd love to buy an Asus with Linux on it, but I can't until the OPML Editor runs there. Please.

@Zach Underwood (zachunderwood): One word: VIM. I use it for almost everything just like Dave uses his opml editor, or Stallman his editor

I love: "Will it still be cool to light up your lamp with gravity, when there's no gravity left and people are spinning right off the planet into outerspace?"

also the "i'm going to use the light from this lamp to power my photovoltaic weight lifting machine" one

I do like the way energy is just turned into different forms. Energy Conservation leaps from a "more/less" concept to a "tidying up" one.
