The HypnosEye lets you project images from the screen of your iPhone, iPod Touch or other mobile device onto a screen. It uses a special anti-glare mirror and lens to blow up the screen onto a projection surface.

"Apple is widely regarded as the master of mobile software design, but is it about to copy a key feature of Android? The reason iPhone apps are so easy to use is that Apple enforces strict design rules on third party developers. Those rules could be about to change, we’ve heard."

Cristo - True, but Apple and Google come at things from such different directions that it's interesting when there's cross-over.

Many of Apple's ideas regarding iPhone came from General Magic and Danger. The press and public only seems interested in the surface stories though.

"Apple likes to provide a unified approach to apps across the iPhone and iPod Touch platform. If third party developers are being told to take this approach, it points to the possibility that Apple may release something similar for the iPhone’s built in apps." -- How do you read stuff like that and not end up Godwinning every single Apple discussion?

I hope that all of the major phone OS designers take something away from the successes of the others. I love seeing really good competition in this arena.

Really Ballmer, when did they ask you about OS market share. They're asking you about the iPhone and Android Mobile OS numb nuts.

"A patent application filed in the United States suggests that the leading technology firm is considering introducing commercials in order to sell its products at a discounted price. Described in the application as "enforcement routine" software, it is believed the technology would force users to watch or listen to small adverts which they would be unable to skip past. The technology could also require users to answer questions about the adverts in order to ensure they have listened to and fully understood them. People listening to iPods could be asked to respond to certain button combinations which, once correctly input, would allow them to continue listening to their music. By including the adverts Apple could considerably reduce the cost of some of its best selling products gaining an even larger share of the market. News of the patent, which has been leaked online, sparked immediate concern among fans of Apple's technology."

"The premise behind "The Carrier," Evan Young's iPhone graphic novel, is fairly basic: a guy wakes up in a dark room with no idea how he got there, who he is, or why a titanium briefcase is shackled to his wrist. The execution, however, is anything but simple. Existing only through iTunes (for now), the graphic novel mixes traditional comic book storytelling with various real-world iPhone features, including geolocation, email and messaging. "My hope is that people approach 'The Carrier' in a couple of different ways: both as a comic book, on one hand, but also as a new type of graphic novel storytelling that can only be experienced using today's mobile, digital devices - in this case, the iPhone or the iPod Touch," Young told CBR News. "First and foremost, 'The Carrier' is a comic book with a hook: a man wakes up in a strange city with a briefcase chained to his wrist, and he doesn't know how the case got there or what's inside of it." While the iPhone application, a $5.99 download...

I picked up the free lite version of the app which is the first chapter (thanks for the heads up RAPatton). I definitely want to find out what happens and see how all of the features come together. I'm struggling a bit with the $5.99 price probably due to my being spoiled by the .99 apps. On the other hand, I believe in paying people for their work and certainly don't expect things to be free. I'm hoping it will come down a little but I'll probably get it eventually :D Has anyone else checked it out?

You want something that's as small a footprint as possible, but yet still capable of holding a full-size optical disc, square because any other shape is ridiculous, rounded corners because sharp corners are also ridiculous (and hey, dangerous! ;)). I'm gonna go out on a limb here and call the Mac Mini "design" pretty obvious, and not just in hindsight. (I know, I took the bait....)
- alex falkenberg
(taking the bait as well) this looks awfully like a macmini or a transtec senyo, both on the market for years now - the pretty, shiny surface is new tho.....

I don't think it's a bad idea, I think they'll sell a lot of them. I do however think it's pathetic that they can't come up with their own form factor.

. @garyvee 's iphone app the Vook version of "Crush It!" just went down to $6.99. I'm not a Marketing Person- not that there's anything wrong with that ;) (see Seinfeld) but I'm going to get it. Unfortunately, I have to be at home to do it because it's a big app. Has anyone checked the vook version of it out yet?
