So do I. But there are no legal protections for the data once they have it. They can be subpoenaed for almost any reason, and they don't even have to tell you they've received a subpoena. So I'm sitting this one out for now. - Daniel Dulitz

I believe it can be done with a fake name. In fact, if say, FriendFeed bought kits for the whole office, each kit would have a claim code. Piaw, I personally would like to understand better what the genes do before hacking them. That's what I'm working on. Not everyone is of the same opinion though--some people boldly just go in and start hacking (though usually on microbes, not themselves!). That's synthetic biology, more or less. - Ruchira S. Datta
