Where do you buy your .co.uk and .org.uk domain names? Godaddy tells me I have to buy a .org.uk name for 2 years and that stinks and in any case would rather buy from a UK registrar for this one. Mind you, Godaddy seems to be a couple of quid cheaper. So any recommendations, and any opinions?
If you're getting the 13:20 train from Euston to Manchester tomorrow (Thursday 26th Nov, for the Coming Home seminar) then if you PM me on the forum (or Direct Message me here if we're following each other) we can arrange to meet up.
I've got a reserved ticket for coach C, seat 41, but we might find there are enough seats to move around.
When was the last time you checked your Twitter page's Page Rank? ie 'twitter.com/your_name'. I've just discovered mine has PR4 - which is certainly better than nothing from an authority perspective and worth a few links back to sites. Be interested in your thoughts on this.
PR4, favorites page PR3. I wonder if it depends on the age of one's twitter account? Anyway, lots more tweets linking to my blog posts coming up methinks! Thanks for the heads-up on this Mark.

I"m glad his ordeal is over, then. But I'll miss him. I may pull out my Crusade DVDs; his conversation with his son (who played Galen the Technomage) is priceless!
- LJF Wolffe
Was that Tim? If you find a url for that conversation I'd be interested in it (I had a teeny weeny part on The Lady Windermere's Fan on BBC that Tim starred in. Coincidentally I found the vids for it on Youtube - see Create It FF room).
- Isha (Marysia)
Galen was played by Peter Woodward -- who definitely inherited his father's voice. I'll look for YouTube -- and go watch you, too! Cool!
- LJF Wolffe
So sorry -- I can't find video. But it was the Crusade episode "The Long Road," if that helps at all.

I've been using WPD interface to set up and alter my sidebar sales offer. I want to move totally over to wp-admin interface but I can't find my sidebar ad anywhere in wp-admin. Anyone using WP Direct who can tell me where to find it in wp-admin plz? I want to edit it.
It should be in the "Widgets" area... Appearance>Widgets. Thats where you control your sidebar content unless of course you hard code something in on the sidebar.php file found in Appearance>Editor. ...In most cases, its a text type widget that usually gets applied to your sidebar for ads.
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
Ron is right. You may also want to check the contents of sidebar.php, index.php, single.php just in case there is code there that appears below the get_sidebar() call.
- TrafficBug
Thanks @Ron and @TrafficBug. I'll be checking on these soon when I've finished my current market samurai project :))
- Isha (Marysia)
check out appearance then widgets. It should be on the right hand side.
- Todd Bryson
The thing is, I want to edit my ad. The widget is there, and the plugin for the widget is there, but what I'm looking for is a way to edit the ad from wp-admin. Any WPD users out there who know how I can do this?
- Isha (Marysia)
HOOT, I just found some vids online of a bbc play I was in in my yoof. 9:10 to 9:24 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch... and 5:32 to 6:17 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch... For some reason they show in the opposite order below, so the 2nd vid below has the 9:10 to 9:24 bit and
the other one has the 5:32 to 6:17 bit. Dunno if this room is really the place for it. Acting seems very creative to me; I guess I thought I was creating a character (albeit the most minor one you could ever think of), as if Mr Oscar Wilde didn't have much to do with it :D
- Isha (Marysia)
Isha just watched both videos fantastic that was you as the maid? Wow how cool that I am friends with a famous actress :-)
- Groobers
from iPod
Yes I was the maid but not exactly famous rofl !

You may have had emails in the last 2/3 months from Commission Junction UK &/or from Affiliate Window, telling you that amongst other things their new guidelines include: "Affiliates must not use a mechanism whereby users are encouraged to click to interact with content where it is unclear or confusing what the outcome will be: For example: [...]...
or confusing what the outcome will be: For example: [...] Opening the merchant's site without making it clear that this will occur". Affiliates contravening the code will be flung out. I quickly went through my posts unlinking all the keyword-to-affiliate-merchant links. How can we get around this? Are our 30dc sites now defunct?
- Isha (Marysia)
Would love to have your comments on this issue. Affiliate Window & Commission UK are prolly the biggest UK-based affiliate organisations in the UK. If you're signed up to them, I wonder what you've been doing re your affiliate links in your blog posts?
- Isha (Marysia)
The US have now caught up of course (FTC). Seems that the UK got there first...
- Isha (Marysia)
Isha here is the url to the friendfeed blog post "FriendFeed now 6x more awesomer with themes" http://blog.friendfeed.com/2009... (It was just a case of picking a theme and changing it in your settings). Just noticed another post on the blog about "Custom FriendFeed themes and a way to show them off" http://blog.friendfeed.com/2009... , which I never noticed before but looks interesting.

Aaargh! I misremembered the time of the webinar, & missed it! To those who were on it: did you get any info on when the recording will be put up on the web?
I have to say that I'm not a great fan of Michael Hutchence. There was no-one to touch Freddie. Every time I see Hutchence's name I can't help seeing visions of his strange death 8-o
- Isha (Marysia)
I love them both I spent many an hour growing up locked in my bedroom listening and dreaming! Freddie had it all the voice the charisma and of course the shear brilliance of all the queen band. As for Michael as Paul Weller sang (You Do Something To Me) he just did it for me, everything about him from his music to his look and of course his air of danger :)
- Groobers
They had a warp.swf meme going around in reddit a couple of days ago. It was something like bubbles of videos where as you move your mouse over particular video it expands into more bubbles of related videos - sorta like video recommendation engine.
- TrafficBug
I knew it was on Google search but not on YouTube till I went to watch Lisa's video yesterday and decided to do some research and noticed it. Was it on Youtube since then? Never noticed it before, but hey, s**t happens :)
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
Wow that youtube search Wonder Wheel is too cool! (I just reread your original post Ron so deleted my previous idiotic comment).
- Isha (Marysia)
Noticed that some of the searches give the Wonder Wheel & others don't - weird :D
- Isha (Marysia)
Thanks for the link TrafficBug. That youtube hack was really cool
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
@Isha I noticed that it doesn't always show too. Maybe they are still tweaking it or maybe there isn't something relevant for it to spin off on with certain vids?? Just a guess.
- Ron"micronet"Harwood
it has been there for a while and it will only display info when it has relevant info to show.

Voting starts today in "Stray FM's Win A Wedding" please could you vote for Amanda & Michael. I was telling everyone it was one vote per email address but it turns out it's one vote per computer. Just to fill you in a little on the story if I haven't had chance to speak to you yet, my niece has got through to the final five on strayfm's win a wedding, and yes I know they say "Love Is All You Need" but wouldn't it be nice to win an all expenses paid wedding!!! Here is the link to the voting page, there is nothing to fill in, it's just one of those poll type jobs where you just click on vote, next to Amanda and Michael and you're done :) http://www.strayfm.com/winawed... Cheers Groobers

This is just too cool! He certainly deserves it; he's led a long and interesting life, both in front of and away from the camera. Huzzah for Sir Christopher! 8-)

Karma got 'em, though -- their battery died. Three kids and two "adults." At least they got their car shoved out of the way ... all in all, a bigger deal when it happened than afterwards. If that's the worst that happens this weekend, we'll be doing good!
- LJF Wolffe
You're right it's probably a little unfair—but funny :D
- Andrew Roche
It is funny. Comic Sans is 'supposed' to be good for dyslexics but I hate it and I'm mildly dyslexic!
- Linda
Really? I would have thought that it was a bit busy for comfortable reading.
- Andrew Roche
Too busy for me and not enough letter differentiation when I'm tired. My college insists I use it when preparing handouts as they want to be 'dyslexia friendly' - sheesh!
- Linda
This is a brilliant place. I've been there several times and especially recommend soon before Christmas - they do it up as old Christmases & the smells are heavenly. Each floor is of a different era. You have to be silent though. A great place to just sit & relax. Dennis lived here & created it & invited special guests to experience it in the way he wanted it to be experienced. One of the truly greatest experiences that London has to offer. And a *unique* experience.
