It depends on what you use it for. I could close mine tomorrow, and not really miss it. It's a secondary thing for me. I've been online so long, I've always traded email addresses with people first, and still do, if I wish to remain in contact.

I'm with Glen. My real life friends are on Facebook. People I will go out and have a beer with. People with whom I feel comfortable sharing my phone number and address. I can't say that about a single other website.

I don't understand why everyone is freaking out - I can probably locate the same info on a person via google as what FB 'owns' now. Plus, all of these EULA are subject to legal review once a case hits. Last, how many people read the EULA for games, software, email, and everything else. Google owns more of your data than most know

Only as important as your personal brand on the internet. You need to control your name and information. Even though you don't want to have a .net domain you still buy it just in case someone else does it and try to impersonate you.

Having a Facebook is not "as important as your personal brand on the internet." Does my facebook even show up in Google? It's too closed to be that powerful in building your presence. Also, nobody can impersonate you very well unless you're half-assed with your social engagement.

It's true. Facebook is more interactive in most ways than Twitter, making it a better place to connect w/ friends.

FB and Twitter have generation gaps. Twitter is preferred by people that want to say it or comment and get on with it. This includes 30 somethings and older folks. Younger people and people that see FB as the home page and have time or want to spent time filling it with there stuff. They both service different needs and I cant tell you which will last longer in either. The fact that twitter is easier to block/hide spamers and ads also appeals to some people as well.

Facebook is for people with time to kill. I find it requires way more of mine than I'm willing to give. That's why I prefer Twitter anf Friendfeed which fit into MY lifestyle rather than make me fit into theirs, as Facebook does.

For all those who use Facebook as a way to connect with people they lost contact with, isn't the key to that being as high up the google results as possible? I've never used facebook and do just fine. If I don't know people now, there is a reason for it and don't wanna get poked by them, or any of that rubbish.

To everyone who keeps saying "just google them": 1) You have to actually remember their name to google them. (FB suggests friends in common). 2) For some people, without FB they won't even apepar in a google result set. Look I don't like FB that much but it's the only way I can keep in touch with some of my close friends who are far less geeky.

To me not very important. I keep in contact with close friends in other ways.The worst is that I opened an account and within days I was invited by a couple of people I knew years ago. I don't know why they were searching for me anyway. If we have not been in touch for years there must be reasons. I just don't see the point.

Whether or not it is important really is up to you in the end. I have another opinion on some of these social networks and sign-up more than anything for security reasons. Even If I don' t participate much, at least I' ve blocked a profile for myself and can ensure (to some extent) that I am avoiding identity theft through those services.

Non-perishable goods are the way to go when buying bulk. TP, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc.. I've been a Costco member for 10 years and it's a big part of our monthly spending habits.

And you know, I don't have a problem with this. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that you should probably stop charging stuff and pay off / down your debt. Yeah, credit cards and credit card companies are evil. But, really, at what point does it seem like a good, manageable idea to use all $80,000 of available credit when you're only making $35K?

And I say this as someone who is paying off massive credit card debt. At some point, I did the math and realized that this was not sustainable and came up with a plan to pay stuff down. EDIT: raising your credit limit only happens when you pay your bills on time. so i think of it as a reward -- bonus points on my credit score (since your debt-to-credit ratio is a major factor in your credit score) not as a license to spend.

OneNote was good until I got to the point I had multiple machines and needed to capture information with other devices. I would have to drag my tablet with me to use OneNote. Still use it but not as much as Evernote now.

Since I installed Foldershare a few years ago, it's been cool. My Onenote files are synced between my netbook, work laptop, and home desktop automatically.

for capturing and editing notes OneNote is still a lot better than Evernote. but the whole cloud + rich client on many platforms things basically blows away the advantage for me. and text reco in images is pretty slick too.

with so many apps allowing to collect notes, and notes being so easy to collect, I wonder why people feel so strongly about it. Unless you are a journalist, most important things can be captured in a real notepad and sent to yourself by mail or otherwise.

Evernote has replace Google Notebook for me simply because of it's iPhone app. Is there an Evernote Firefox plug-in/add-on?

I use Google Notebook for a few things I want really handy when I'm in the browser. As I can't share notebooks in Evernote, some stuff gets put in Google Docs and shared that way. Everything else I want to keep goes into Evernote. I really like the OCR. Best I've come across bar none.

I picked up some Spam today and decided to try some Spam musubi for dinner because of the thread I read on FriendFeed. Well, just the marinated Spam and rice part. :) Turned out pretty good! I'll have to try the full musubi sometime.

Good jeeeorb. Also, if you have a 12-gallon tank, you are driving a Honda Civic or similar, which is a thumbs-up from me. If you were driving that GMC Silverador special edition or F250 King Ranch, that bottom number would be more like "30" or "50"... and the top number would likely be in triple digits.

This price is @ the Red Robin station on Woodruff Rd. in Greenville, SC. I prefer RedRobin b/c their gas is ethanol free & I get better mileage. Prices are actually lower the next county over. The car is a Ford Focus, so it is rather small.

L4S: The RR gas station has been around for ages, it's a locally owned place. The RR food chain moved in a year or so ago, and since it's a franchise the business name is probably Red Robin Location #587 or something like that. If neither one filed as an LLC or corporation with the state, there is no name reservation. And I don't think it'd be trademark infringement b/c the local place has been using the name long before the burger chain arrived. Common use or something like that.

It actually kind of reminds me of something we cook at our house called spaghetti pie. It's regular cooked spaghetti mixed with egg and parmesan then covered with mozzarella and baked. Cut out a slice and serve it with spaghetti sauce on top. It's great and I just realized we haven't had it in a long, long time. I know what I'll be cooking one day this week.
