Like Oliver, I should also add a disclaimer - I am probably biased as I have worked on many of the common efforts Philippe is describing, so I have a vested interest :)

Even with ISA-creator and other tools I think most experimentalists will still need help (if only a few hours of a dedicated curator) to make sure they identify all relevant fields and terms. Still a large step forward as they identified (imo) the right target audience.

@Oliver - agreed. Isacreator is quite slick looking, though, which should make it easier for non-programmers to use :)

One additional note: the code that validates/loads/convert is structured in a way that should ease the job of mapping ISATAB (or any X-TAB) to object models and vice versa. For instance now I am using it for coding an SRA converter. The approach is drafted here: http://brandizi.webhop.net/mysite....
