"A SOFABED THAT DOES DOUBLE DUTY, Mobelform's Doc folds out into not one, but two twin sized beds stacked one atop the other: in short, a bunk bed."

I remodeled! Didn't seem to matter that the cooking counter is trapped inside the middle. I am a firm believer in the Japanese Sushi bar philosophy: prepare the food in front of the people! - http://www.flickr.com/photos...
"You know you have a problem when your editor sends you an email like this: I’m not saying you should write yet another post about power outlets. I’m just passing this along because I know of your obsession with the things. Of course, doing something like that is as irresponsible as asking a recovering alcoholic to look after a bottle of scotch for you, so here is the outlet in question, a design so obviously full of utility that it should be a standard feature of hotel rooms worldwide. The outlet appears to spin like a Vegas slot-machine, only instead of feeding it pennies from a paper cup, you feed it a plug from almost anywhere in the world. I say “appears to” as there is no information hinting at a manufacturer or supplier. The pictures came to us in an email with the subject line: ”iýsÈÅò¸ - ä«ßAäÙå¬çE. Spam, we suspect. With nothing but a picture to go on, I am enlisting your help. If anyone knows where you can get these things, or (joy!) of a hotel that actually uses them, tell us in the comments, or e-mail me (the link is up there at the top of this post)."

I am glad that Elvis was not a Turkish national, who would have had to do his national service in the military with this haircut, otherwise, he could never be Elvis, the king–and Marilyn would never look sexy with this haircut.

Same here, howdy neighbor. I have a tendency to redesign mine every couple of days. Nervous habit, I guess. I wish I had saved some screenshots of past designs, but I don't mind the fluid nature of the game. I do wish they had a better solution for walls and partitions, but otherwise it's a decent sandbox.

"Peter Root Posted by Honey Filed in All entries, Architecture, Art ” Potatoes are good for building free standing structures as the starchy moisture acts as a type of glue helping to stick the units together. As the potato begins to dry the units bond together (this fits with the rules that I apply to the other structural 3d work I make: structures have to be pure - without glues, tape or other forms of artificial connection). As the potatoes dry, harden and sometimes go mouldy this also adds an element of life to the work, meaning that the structures evolve, change shape and colour. ” - Peter Root (previously-blogged)"

"With Lana Cavar, we designed this interior and exterior signage system for ZPC (Zagrebački Plesni Centar), a new dance theater in Zagreb. The exterior signs had to help people find the theater, inside a courtyard, from the street; a huge Z draws this line, joins with a P in the courtyard, and a C that winds its way into the building. Inside, underlines on a single datum create a giant rhythm through the building by forming an irregularly dashed line. We thought dance is about discontinuity as much as continuity." http://linkedbyair.net "Linked by Air is the graphic design partnership of Tamara Maletic and Dan Michaelson. Our approach is practical, hands-on and collaborative. We are experienced in several media, including print, online, and installations in the environment. We specialize in the design and production of public space both physical and online. We often do programming in-house so that design and technology are intertwined inventive processes."
