Just got denied health insurance due to a pre-existing condition, so I get to apply to Oregon's public option. Feel bad for those that don't have one

...yet. It is sobering to get a letter from a faceless corporation essentially saying that I'm not a good investment to "underwrite".

Ah, irony: just found out that the company that denied me is the same company that is running Oregon's medical insurance pool.
