Me too. Every time I look at Google Reader I'm taken aback by how many unread items I have, sigh, and go back to NetNewsWire...

what i like about friendfeed and twitter is that they don't explicitly tell you what you haven't done. they promote engagement at will instead of guilt

if it helps, just subscribe to some low priority feed, let it get 1000+ items, and concentrate on your high priority feeds guilt/duty free
