Description of a modern Internet Search Engine by Sergey Brin and Larry Page way back in 2000. This explains the basics of the Google Search Engine - Todd Ditchendorf
Very nice that Jeremy from the Gears team mentions Fluid in the Google announcement blog post. What Jeremey sez is actually quite important... Fluid intentionally loads the Gears plugin itself... when using Gears with Fluid, no InputManagers are needed or used :0] - Todd Ditchendorf
This release will focus mainly on improving the UI and closing the feature parity gap between Safari and Fluid SSBs. New stuff includes a much improved "View Source" window with text search, line numbering and intelligent HTML syntax highlighting. Also an improved, resizable "Downloads" window with resumable downloads and a friendlier 'Clear' button that doesn't clear currently active downloads. Also, integrated "search-as-you-type" find panel (like Safari). - Todd Ditchendorf
there's been some discussion of how to get this kind of functionality. so far the consensus seems to be that this really doesn't need to be part of Fluid or Fluid SSBs themselves. But rather, some "URL routing" app that is totally independent. This router app would be set as your default browser, and would allow the user to associate certain urls with certain browsers or ssbs via URL patterns. Anyone can do this. any takers? - Todd Ditchendorf
note you'll need to update both Fluid and all of your Fluid SSBs to 0.9.3 for use with the Gears beta plugin. Also note it's a beta. :0] - Todd Ditchendorf
Don, look in the system menu bar -- there is a status item there that represents any embedded SSBs (the icon will match your SSB app icon). click the icon and you'll see a menu with an option to 'Convert to Normal Application'. - Todd Ditchendorf
Thanks for the vids Todd. With the new feature in Uberview, it's possible to have a number of web apps in one fluid app. Could group into say, 37Signals apps... Google apps and so on. It has reduced the clutter on my dock. - Jonathan Kong
thanks jonathan... i'm very glad to hear you like the feature. I've never been as pumped about anything in Fluid as I am with the Uberview and what it allows the plugins to do... woohooo!!!1!1!! - Todd Ditchendorf
