Yes because IE8 despite finally having proper support for HTML and CSS lacks the cool stuff like SVG, Canvas, HTML5 video and more (all stadnards AFAIK). :P - Ivan Zlatev

@kevinleehansen Firebug works here just fine. Firefox 3.5 pulled Firebug 1.4.0b3 automatically as an update.

Unlikely. You might be able to get away with compiling on non-Mac (it would require an extra step or two after the pure C# compilation), but you won't be able do any testing or deployment without the iPhone SDK, which only works on Macs. Sucks doesn't it. Then again I am not ever going to buy an iPhone or an iPod. :) - Ivan Zlatev
