"Interstates in Hawaii: ARE WE CRAZY??? The Rambler is often asked how Hawaii can have Interstate highways when the roads clearly don't connect two States. The question is often followed by the observation that, just in case the Rambler hadn't noticed, Hawaii doesn't share a border with any other State and is, in fact, ____ miles away. (The blank indicates that people asking the question don't know how many miles away, but they're pretty sure it's a Far Piece. Actually, Hawaii is 2,400 miles from San Francisco, so it would take a structure the length of I-10 to bridge the gap by road.) Let's face it. "Interstate" means "existing between or including different States," so Interstates in Hawaii must be, if nothing else, a linguistic inconsistency. Why is it that people suddenly become linguists when it comes to Interstates in Hawaii? Okay, okay, here's the scoop. For the most part, the Interstate System is a connected network of highways bound by the Canadian and Mexican borders, the...

The Bone-Chilling Sound of the Planets Won't Let You Sleep Tonight - Planets sound - Gizmodo - http://gizmodo.com/5419181...
"In space, nobody can hear you sing Dancing Queen when you are in the shower. But if you listen closely, you can hear the planets making noises. Noises so scary that make me want to move to another solar system. But then again, that will be full of spooky planets too, emitting the same blood-curdling sounds. This music was recorded by Voyager I and II as they crossed paths with Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune. They weren't captured with a microphone: Audible sound can't travel through space, so Voyager was listening to the electromagnetic waves around the planets and moons. Waves produced by space phenomena, like the planet's magnetospheres interacting with the Sun's radiation. They were released in the 90s as the "Voyager Recordings - Symphonies of the Planets," but they are not for sale anymore. You can look for them on the internet, however."

"Researchers discovered a genetic link between physical pain and social rejection. Psychologists at the University of California in Los Angeles have discovered that the human body deals with emotional stress in exactly the same way that it reacts to physical pain - by releasing a natural painkiller."

From the page: "The trick to the CAT sexual technique is that the penis and clitoris remain inexorably bound together as a result of pressure and counterpressure in a way that can't be done through typical sexual intercourse that focuses on the sliding of the penis all the way in and only partly out of the vaginal canal. During CAT, the sensation is more akin to a long, torrid kiss taking place between clitoris and penis rather than the image of a piston pumping back and forth. An even more apt image might be to compare CAT to how a level works. In addition, the thrusting of the pelvis creates a vibratory effect that many women will instantly recognize. Now for the scientific news. Research conducted into CAT sex reveals that nearly every woman reports experiencing an orgasm that is significantly more intense than normal. Well over half also report that their libido increased and they wanted to increase their weekly dosage of intercourse. A majority of men said they prefer to have sex...

"A former Miss Argentina died Sunday after elective surgery on her butt went terribly wrong. According to several international reports, 37-year-old Solange Magnano suffered a pulmonary embolism after going under the knife Wednesday at a Buenos Aires medical center for a gluteoplasty – a procedure which normally involves placing implants in the buttocks to improve their outline. Solange -- a wife and mother of 7-year-old twins -- suffered a pulmonary embolism the day after her surgery when liquid injected into her buttocks "went to her lungs and brain." Authorities say the cause of death is still under investigation. Solange won the crown back in 1994 -- and had since created her own modeling agency."

From the page: All of this is cogent, and yet for us it misses the REALITY of what is going on. We believe that high oil prices for the most part are a SYMPTOM of something much larger. And that, as Bell readers and feedbackers know, is the BUSINESS CYCLE ITSELF. From our perspective, the business cycle, as described in orthodox Austrian theory is undeniable. Every few decades in a fiat money cycle, the distortions caused by printing too much fiat money simply plunge economies into misery and ruin. The last time there was a significant shakeout was in the 1970s. People can argue over the trigger, of course, and the writer of this article seems to believe the 1970's trigger of near-economic collapse, and the current economic crisis were caused by a lack of a functional oil policy in the US. As we just stated above, we don't.
