"Few days ago I have posted a list of things I won’t be occupied with any more in the new year. number 6 - general issues of microblogging. Now with graciously feminine consequence I intend to write about Jaiku… But this is because it’s bad news on the western front. I know this has been written about before, but before it all goes to hell I’d like to give my very own, subjective account - not in the context of wider picture or the landscape of microblogging or any other shitty buzz word. Just as a one users story, because this is what social networks are made of." - Me: I think all former and/or continuing Jaiku users can relate to this story. As a former Jaiku user, I know I miss the Jaiku community that have been slowly leaving the service scattering themselves amongst other communities.

Yeah I'm not sure about that. And besides, JaikuEngine is open source and App Engine is still going strong. I expect there to be more than one JaikuEngine-based site for people to use out there in the future. You could deploy your own right now.
