I so agree with this and I can tell from personal experience those banks who took the TARP money wish they never had.

A great story. I agree that people need to eat and survive before they need the internet. But at the same time knowledge is power.

What do you expect when the "main stream" media in this country has given this president and congress a nearly complete pass. There is no real objective reporting done by the mainstream media in the USA anymore.

Well this explains a lot about the bonehead that 64 million of you elected president. Really what were you thinking? Our economy will be lucky to survive this.

Paulson isn't dirty on this; the regulators have almost unlimited power over banks in this country. But I am sure that not one government official will ever be charged or even fined. TARP was and is a failure and a waste of money the fall out from this program will be with us for years to come.

Sure we really need these they are trying to regulate the community banks out of business! Chris Dodd and Barney Frank have responsibility in this mess and yest they get to pontificate like they are innocent.

Bring it on Barry. The only problem is that he does not need 1 republican vote to pass this democrats control both houses and can do what they want. He can't keep his own house in order and that's the problem. He can pass this without 1 single vote from the opposition.

This sounds great for Barry until you look at the internals of the poll. The link is at the bottom of the story but here is the important part "18% of the respondents who participated in tonight's survey identified themselves as Republicans, 45% identified themselves as Democrats, and 37% identified themselves as Independents." Nope that was weighted in his favor now was it?

I really some of the comments to the story are more interesting than the story. It should be obvious by now that Rahall will vote for whatever he gets the most power from no matter what his constituents want. How about we fire him as a reminder of who he works for?

I am glad that that elected officials like this are starting to show their true colors while being challenged by the American people! I am even more proud of the fact that the electorate is fighting back and reminding the member of congress who they work for!
