From an outreach model I would break the "influencers" down into those with the widest reach, which the article suggests as followers, and then I would want to take a close look at the on-topic postings. So the Top 100 will have influence over the widest demographic, but it only takes a few on-topic influencers to gain leverage with a specific target audience. So getting positive mentions from the top 100 is always helpful, but getting narrow and focused from on-topic influencers is just as important. - James Clark
