Janet is determined to be productive around the house today. Here's my list - ask me later how much I got done :) 1. Help hubby attach the top to the basement bar. 2. Four loads of laundry. 3. Attach homemade skirting to craft table. 4. Sew and hang curtains for office. 5. Tame piles of miscellany in office.
WOOHOO!! I'm very happy to report that I have accepted a new job as Account Executive for Essman Associates, a full-service marketing, advertising and communications firm here in Des Moines. I will be spending a couple of weeks wrapping things up at the Chamber, and am also pleased to be able to remain active in Chamber events as my new employer...
Thanks to my honey, I now have a dimmer switch on the light in the room where I get ready for work... and a towel rack attached to the kitchen island table! *smooch*.
Just received word that I have been named "Customer of the Year." Shouldn't there be an induction ceremony or something? Or at least free shipping on my next order??
To the obnoxious woman sitting behind me at the North High football game tonight - SHUT UP! Here are the clues you desperately needed: 1. It's just a game. 2. They're kids. 3. They're working their butts off. Now, if you still find it necessary to mock them and then root for the opponent, please go sit on the other side of the field.
Wonderful event tonight at Park Fair Mall, showcasing the redeveloped Mall and benefitting the East DM Chamber's scholarship fund. Special thanks to Chris Murray and Denny Elwell Company for hosting a great networking reception and for opening up (and dressing up!) their space for us! Amy Hinners rocks!!
What a great productive day - tomorrow will be a long work day... if you'd like to learn about commercial developments on the east side, stop by Celebration of Progress, 4-7 pm at Park Fair Mall. Your $10 tickets benefits the East DM Chamber's scholarship program for East High, North High & Grand View U. students. Tickets at the door!
My biker sister Sheila says via FB status that today (Sunday) is/was National Coming Out Day. I would like all of my GLBT friends to know how much I love and appreciate them - each of you makes this world a beautiful place!
Lots done this weekend, in addition to helping Steph finish putting together her homecoming outfit, I sewed a skirt for me and some curtain panels to make a "skirt" for the worktable in my office. And, helped Steve pour and spread this cool acrylic stuff all over the top for his basement bar.
