Where's the Kaboom? There's supposed to be an Earth-shattering Kaboom

My Master's was related to finding ice on the Moon, so I'm totally stoked about ice on Mars. Congrats again!
- Jason Ziglar
Note to FF. This post is a perfect example of a serious noise problem. It's the 4th consecutive post by the same person about the same story. I love the news itself but I don't need to hear about it four times.
- Richard Shulman
It makes me sad that Americans are so easily misled that we have to have a "truth page" to dispel the slander and rumors. Hate politics now. (The "baby mama" crack about pushed me over the edge.)
- Aura Mae
I saw a previous comment implying that this is something new, but it really isn't. The election of 1800 was much more vicious than our 21st century elections.
- Ontario Emperor
Now here is an amazingly potent use of the internet you can bet McCain can't deal with. I just shared on Facebook and am going to digg now. :-)
- Mary Anne Davis
Why do you say that McCain can't deal with it?
- Ontario Emperor
McCain doesn't know how to use a computer...

Seems like it ought to be harder to lie and smear in this era of connectivity. I understand that in times where communications were slow it was easy to slander folks, I was just silly and naive enough to think it wouldn't happen now.
- Aura Mae
The religious stuff bugs me about that site. He's not a muslim, but so what if he was? Why would that be bad? Is there anything wrong with that?
- Chris Nixon
If you're a diigo user, please take a look at the comment left on the site and then email the campaign to let them know. Here's a quick screencast I made: http://screencast.com/t...

Michael & Chris - reality is that the only worst than being black to the far right: being a Muslim.
- R. Ferguson
Gee, would you like to post a link to the Fight the Smear against John McCain website. Oh, that's right, no one is smearing him.
- Michael Tefft
I don't know about that... the old stuff can get a little out of hand
- Stefan Hayden
Agreed Stefan, but he kinda asked for it by admitting he has no idea how to use a computer. How can you be president in the 21st century with pre-1970s tech skills?
- Tad

@Ruth But surely this is just pandering to that fascist mentality.
- Chris Nixon
@TranceMist I think that wish is about 4 months gone
- Michael W. May
from twhirl
TranceMist I am afraid I enjoy social media tools but it drives me to tears to "read" about it ALL the time. So instead I obsess on the campaign...LOL
- R. Ferguson
Michael - tough call if it is pandering. I believe Obama is DETERMINED if he loses it will not be by quietly sitting by and getting swiftboated.
- R. Ferguson
When he get's into office he should reform election campaign laws.
- Chris Nixon
@TranceMist: You do know how to use the "hide" feature, right?
- Chris Reed
@Ruth Swiftboating is when people come out and tell the truth about someone, not slandering or lying.
- Dave Roth
Re "no smears against McCain" - if questions to HRC about Monica Lewinsky are off topic, what about questions about McCain's first wife?
- Ontario Emperor
from fftogo
@Ontario the difference there is one was already wrung through the wringer of congressional impeachment hearings
- Michael W. May

@Dave you have to be kidding. @Ruth you are right on. Kerry made it clear that ignoring controversial issues is not an effective strategy these days.

I doubt I'd ever carry three devices. My phone and maybe an ipod (you know, back in the day). Unless you count my flashlight, but I like to think of that as less device and more custom machined piece of aluminum and LED goodness.
- felix
Single device person too. BTW, how many mem cards will consumers carry? Seems like lots of complaints iPhone doesn't have a slot
- John Sun
yeah what are those 3 devices?cell phone, camera, and mp3? I can't manage more then1.
- Stefan Hayden
yeah, i am always carrying cell, ipod, camera.
- edythe
top three are phone, laptop and camera. it will change on context
- Michael Gartenberg
three is an upper limit. most folks want to trend toward one where possible or practical
- Michael Gartenberg
i'd say it's two (camera/mobile)-I don't count non-pocketable devices as 'mobile'. also, who's the hairy guy in that picture?!
- Jeremy Toeman
I carry three typically (2 cell phones + iPod), sometimes laptop. Hope to change to 2 (iPhone + work phone.)
- Jason Ziglar
What's mobile is an interesting discussion in and of itself. that's we built a mobile taxonomy some time ago. pocketable is one of four categories
- Michael Gartenberg
But how many lenses will they carry? ;)
- TranceMist
During the week I carry two phones (work /personal) and my internet tablet as well as my laptop. I've got a few other phones as well as a media player + accessories in my bag as well. On the weekend or evening I usually just carry one phone
- Jonathan Greene
what does your internet tablet do that your phone or laptop doesn't that justifies carrying it? working on research on this topic
- Michael Gartenberg
The Internet Tablet (Nokia N810) offers a much richer browser, qwerty and access to apps which let me write more or even blog directly. I usually cruise google reader pretty heavily while maintaining a few other windows for social networking. I'll also use it for IM ... Easily tethers to my various mobiles. Happy to discuss more if you like.
- Jonathan Greene
makes sense but wouldn't a small laptop serve that purpose better? or a phone with a real browser
- Michael Gartenberg
my phone has a real browser ... s60 but the screen size and text input is far better on the tablet. the other phone is a bb and has a terrible browser. my laptop is work issued and small ... lenovo x61 but tethering is awful and unreliable and the N810 is far more crowd friendly
- Jonathan Greene
I should also probably add, my commute is over an hour and so the phone which works great gets tiring for that kind of intensive session ... vs the NIT which offers a more comfortable experience
- Jonathan Greene
