WHATABURGER! Yeehaww! Gotta love Texas. I can only aspire to this level of slobbery.
- Josh Haley
That person has a serious problem of some kind -- I am not a neat freak but that is disgusting
- Brian Sullivan
and i no longer feel bad about how dirty my place is right now. at least i have the excuse of being sick the last week.
- Anika
Looks like a hoarder. I have several clients like that. It's really sad and nearly impossible to treat.
- Rochelle
and now i've clicked through the link and OMG...i smoke, but get techy when my "ashtray bucket is more than 1/5 full. the most jarring thing was the pieces of "cleanliness' among that nasty, like all the cleaning supplies adn shampoos in the bathroom. the iron in the kitchen. they'll probably find the tenant under all that trash next to the bed. GROSS>
- Anika
Things could breed there. Nasty things.
- David Young
Rochelle: yuck, yuck, yuck. Tell us you don't have to make housecalls and see this kind of stuff on any regular basis. I get a little ill just looking at this, and I am a bit of neatfreak, so yeah, it kind of ties my stomach up in knots looking at it.
- Pete Delucchi
Pete, I do, all the time! I'm a social worker. :)
- Rochelle
OK, whoa, just looked at ALL the pics. That's tough to see. Not safe for the vomit-fragile.
- Josh Haley
Reminds me of a place I was shown when I was looking for my first apartment out of college. I didn't rent the place. It was too scary.
-
I get sketchy when I have more than a couple of days worth of laundry to do or if I have dishes in the dishwasher, already pre-rinsed, that haven't been run through the cycles yet. I would have a seizure if I walked into a place like this.
- Jennifer Leggio
i am not a neat freak, but that is just disgusting.
- Heidi Blanton
I have just cleared my desk :) That's awful!
- Vicky
what's a landlord to do with a place like that?
- Jasmin Smith
Jasmin, there are professional companies that specialize in industrial/heavy duty waste cleanup and such that can be hired to come clear out everything. I've priced a few and they're ridiculously expensive. Of course, there's then an issue of pest control if there are bugs, mold control if there is mold, etc.
- Rochelle
This is pretty vile stuff and it says they people *live* here, its not just been left like that.
- Kol Tregaskes
from twhirl
Someone has a serious psychological disorder.
- ·[▪_▪]·
That's not funny. Someone is really bad sick and needs some help. Looks like some form of depression.
- Internet's Tad
Tad, for younger people, it's usually depression combined with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Schizophrenics can also end up with homes like that due to the utter lack of organization in any part of their life. In older adults, it's usually depression combined with dementia.
- Rochelle
wow Rochelle, I'd say it's worth every penny.
- Jasmin Smith
Jasmin, it would be worth if for sure if the person was moving out. But to do a cleanup for someone who will continue living there, it's not worth it unless they're also being treated for the problem. Otherwise, they'll fill the apartment right back up again in no time.
- Rochelle
Rochelle's right, but I don't think this person is a hoarder. Usually hoarder's houses are full of stuff that are somehow meaningful to them like old newspapers or magazine and other stuff which is often stacked relatively neatly. A friend's mom was a really bad hoarder, but she didn't have ANY food or other unsanitary stuff laying around. Her house smelled fine - it was just full (to the ceilings) of junk (newspapers, mail, etc)
- Internet's Tad
Tad, there are different types of hoarders. Usually seniors with dementia are the type to keep meaningful items. Those with schizophrenia end up with homes like in the article.
- Rochelle
That definitely did not go with my lunch. I thought MY house looked bad. My thought was, "There's someone who has completely given up." Maybe this will give me the impetus to get back to getting stuff in order around here.
- MiniMage, sheeple of FF
The support talk of other sufferers that started on Reddit was uplifting (especially for those of us who *think* we might have a touch of this). http://www.reddit.com/r...
- Adam Turetzky
Let's face it: it's not really 'living' is it?
- dkb
This hits pretty close to home. My dad is borderline with hoarding. It's probably why I went in the opposite direction with being a neat freak. He doesn't keep food, but seemingly everything else. I dread the day he dies and I have to deal with his house +5 storage units of stuff.
- Heather Solos
Seriously, hoarding can get pretty awful. It's not uncommon for them to keep things that healthy adults would consider garbage, like fast-food wrappers, already-opened envelopes. There are people who even store all their stool and urine in baggies and in cups.
- Victor Ganata
Rochelle, do people who suffer from this tend to also ignore their health? I have a friend who lived this way who died recently and she ignored all her symptoms until it was too late. We spent days cleaning out her house and found about $10,000 worth of stuff never taken out of the original wrappers and mail order boxes.
- Trish R
Oh, I'm totally late in responding to Trish R's question. But yes, Trish, that's very common because people with hoarding problems generally have coexisting mental illness, which goes hand-in-hand with neglect of personal health care.
- Rochelle
speaking as someone who spent over a decade battling major depression, i can totally understand the mindset behind this behaviour. thank fuck that's in my PAST.
- Joe Silence is not dead
Very sad. (I'm surprised it hasn't all gone up in flames.) I bet many of us know someone with some version of this problem, and some of us might have milder forms of it from time to time. (My stuff does get messy, but I'll go into purge mode periodically to get rid of all the crap. My problem is more that I run out of time daily to tend to some stuff properly. I definitely don't leave food out and stuff like that, though.)
- Kamilah Gill
you rock dude. I read encyclopedias too as a child. Read a set one summer after we moved.
- RAPatton
Hey Shey if you get that #23 super power working, then I want one that is like krytonite to my dog's breath :)
- Patrick Jordan
Anyone read those ChildLife books? I loved them as a kid. I'd read encyclopedias, too, but not back-to-back. When I ran out of my books, I'd find my mother's, no matter where she hid them. Seems she didn't think Sidney Sheldon, Erica Jong and Danielle Steel were appropriate for a preteen. Ok, I'm exaggerating; I actually found Jong boring. Zipless? WTF?
- MiniMage, sheeple of FF
Thanks for not being too freaked out y'all -- FFers are teh awesomest!
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Freaked out? You so silly, Shey. Your list made me smile almost as much as the picture on your site of you and your wife. You cool peeps. Even if you do cuddle during football. HA!
- nakachi
Sorry, Shey. I was just pulling up some of these old 25 Things lists. Maybe new users can learn some things from old-timers like you. :)
- Christopher Harley
It seems like you want a phone not an integrated device (cause if you did, the question wouldn't exist); so forget the iPhone, get a Bar Stool and a free phone with your contract.
- Parth Awasthi
Easy choice; just try sitting on an iPhone at the bar all evening and see how that works out for you.
- Glen Campbell
Shey you should tell everyone what kind of crappy phones we're dealing with and how I don't even get reception in our condo (it's my phone, not our carrier).
- Jasmin Smith
I could, but then we'd have to tell them how bare our condo is and that our living room consists of a TV and some folding chairs.
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Shey has a Razr with a shattered front screen and I have a Motorola V635 which is good for nothing but a paperweight (http://bit.ly/2FkwyK). I can only use it with a headset because the volume is so low, and I can't even count on getting reception outside, nevermind in our condo. I only use it for text messaging now and resort to Skype for all phone calls... another reason why I want the iPhones first!
- Jasmin Smith
Bar stools...being comfortable in your new place is more important
- Shevonne
Thanks Shevonne for being a voice of reason. However, iPhones are so shiny!
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Shey; if you need to set out a comfortable living room, you probably don't need bar stools. You are enticed by the idea of bar stools and I'll admit they look slick in the place, but lets face it: they aren't for long time usage - definitely not for living room comfort. As Jasmin pointed, you clearly *need* phones. So I'd suggest get the iPhones now; wait for a while and set out your living room with laZboys.
- Parth Awasthi
To further the argument, it depends on the amount of time one spends with these things. I don't think you'd use a Bar Stool more than 2 hours in a week where as I think you may be using your phones for 2 hours each day.
- Parth Awasthi
The reason to get bar stools first is the really nice ones often require 4 months to get them, which gives you plenty of time to spend time & money on phones while you're waiting for them to arrive.
- Cristo
We're conditioned to react unfavorably to the supposedly conflicting elements in the photograph. If she were a statue, holding a sword while nursing her child, I suspect we'd react differently.
- Christopher Harley
Girls and Guns, and Boobs... how can you go wrong
- Victor Ryden
@Chris, I wouldn't react any differently. What woman would nurse her child while posing with a weapon of any kind (not to mention actually using said weapon)?
- Kenton
If that's so, Kenton, I'd love to be able to spend 10 minutes inside your brain.
- Christopher Harley
um can anyone say abuse? And I'm not talking about the gun. This child is WAY to old to be on a boob, I'm utterly disgusted.
- Kelly W.
Maybe I need you to expand on your idea then Chris, because I don't see the difference between a sword and a gun.
- Kenton
To me, swords are all but ceremonial today. In the past they weren't and if they were being held at the ready it meant defense. The image of a mother, especially a nursing mother, holding a sword would have indicated a society on the brink of complete collapse. At least as an artistic conceit.
- Christopher Harley
To me the striking thing about the photo is that it is a weapon, I wouldn't feel any different if it was an AK-47, a missile launcher, or a switchblade. The incongruity is the same for me.
- Kenton
It could be a weapon. It's doubtful she'd have much luck hunting duck or pheasant with any of the other weapons you mentioned. Trust me, Kenton, the incongruity stems from a temporal disassociation between her role as mother and the degree to which you've allowed her to assert herself as such. Ask yourself; if she were in a nineteenth century oil paining would the elements seem any more harmonious?
- Christopher Harley
Hmmm, Chris, if she were in a cave painting holding a spear it would be incongruous (aside from the fact that "cave women" didn't hunt), but in a 19th century painting holding a sword it isn't? Not for me. I don't care whether she is hunting ducks, people or skeet, a weapon is a weapon and holding it while nursing a child is incongruous in my personal opinion.
- Kenton
@mark - surely you can tell the difference between the 2 photos
- chrisofspades
My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, I could teach you, but I have to charge
- sofarsoShawn
I can't really look away from this picture. It's quite fascinating on a lot of levels.
- Jon, the Beartato of FF
is this a documentary photograph? I don't think so. It reads like a statement photograph, staged and therefore not especially outrageous... like a lame Benneton ad or something. Feels like someone is desperately trying to be artsy or controversial. I don't take it at face value.
- JoEllen
@Christopher - I disagree. I think the whole thing is staged, the outfit, the gaze of the shirtless child, the location, the gun. Lantern, gun, 3 month old or 2 year old - it's all done purposely, which is what someone taking/directing the photo would do. The age of the child and the action/prop don't provoke me at all, I just think they were chosen to make a statement.
- JoEllen
The breastfeeding isn't a big deal, it certainly isn't "abuse" or wrong" like some think. But I don't like guns being around young children. Even in staged photos. Just my personal issue.

it's not desktop tool for me. It is webtool called diigo. It's integrated with browser both for taking notes on a web page(annotation) and retrieve them as bookmarks. Yes evernote has a nice OCR technology.

Adrienne: that's because you haven't seen what Evernote can do.
- Robert Scoble
Notepad. Viva la Old School! Yes. I'm serious.
- Art Lindsey III
Onenote most often, but Evernote is a good clip capture tool.
- Soulhuntre

Evernote - use it every day. Notebooks need to have sections or chapters, and the Mac version needs to add audio recording, but otherwise it's great.
- Dean Terry
best notetaking for me is my moleskine for on hand, and jott when behind the wheel.
- sean808080
Notepad++ largely, but increasingly using Google Notebook.
- Derrick Burns
Evernote. mostly use it to keep track of real estate listings. (used to use OneNote--haven't opened it in months!)
- Jasmin Smith
Franklin organizer. Paper is the best.
- Victor Ryden
Jott for voice notes, Evernote for pictures and text but iPhone produces very blurry and unusable business cards with Evernote so far, needs a focus-adjuster app to be effective.
- Sally Church
Google Notebook. Trying to find practical uses of Evernote. It still doesn't seem to have a collaborating notebooks feature.
- Chris Chua
Evernote, has more flexibilty then Google Notebook. There are a few fearures I would like to added but it does the trick for me.
- Paul
from twhirl
evernote all the way. rich internet app with clients for most major PC and mobile platforms, and sync to cloud is quick and reliable. text deco of images is a nice bonus. they do need to spend some time observing the list features of OneNote and the search search ux of Spotlight - even the best apps can always improve.
- Jon Price
Right now it's Gmail and IMAP but I am playing with Evernote. I do have concerns though about trusting my info with your cloud. You're doing all the right things. It's just that you're new and I need to get to know you. I trust Gmail.
- Steve Rubel
Vim! In second place comes Mousepad. Third place is "cat - > note.txt".
- Rishabh Mishra (p248)
Evernote is a great service/app, but I still find I can write faster in OneNote.
- Rafe Needleman
Rafe: I'd be convinced if you could get me OneNote on my iPhone.
- Robert Scoble
Evernote + Reqall is a killer combo on the iPhone/Web/Everywhere
- Nicholas Molnar
Google Notebook on computer, Jott when mobile.
- Ian May
I love Google Notebook, need to find a good mobile alternative.
- Rahaf Harfoush
Honestly, a moleskine notebook and a decent pen. A recent development for me, but it's working great. I get WAY too distracted taking notes on a computer where there are so many fun things I could be doing with my spare seconds! :-)
- Josh Bancroft
I have a voice recorder on my mp3 player and on my phone, but I still mainly use a moleskine and a box of mechanical pencils. Old school, that's me.
- Steven Perez
While on foot, it's either my Nokia N95 8GB or my Moleskine, but with computer access it's either Evernote or Google Docs.
- Niklas Pivic

Mail.app. Comes pre-installed. Easy to use. Notes are synchronised across all of my devices (Mac Mini, MacBook and iPhone). Notes are also available online via MobileMe. I don't need to wait for any app to launch since I always have Mail.app running anyway.
- Paul Grav
Evernote is great but needs a printer driver and better inking. OneNote is king on TabletPC's for inking. Evernote is king for syncing.
- Andrew Forde

Evernote has great features, but I still find the desktop client a bit hard to use at times. Would like it a lot more if there was a proper app for my Symbian phone.

My name is James, I am from the state of Michigan in the USA. I am in the United States Navy, and I am currently in the state of Mississippi receiving training for my job. I love computers, cell phones, and having fun. I used to be really involed in FF but right now I don't have a computer to use, so once I get a computer people will see a lot more of me.
- Colide81 (James)
from fftogo
And you're the pride and joy of FF, James! Thanks for constantly checking in through your BB and keeping us posted on your training! I love hearing how you love learning new things!! @April - do you feed the dust bunnies? LOL
- Mona Nomura
Hi i'm Gordon and i'm Jamaican! but you already know that:) Suuuup Mo?
- Gordon Swaby
Gordon - do you live in Jamaica? I've always wondered by never asked. And I kid you not, you still look like TI in that picture!!
- Mona Nomura
I think they might be eating the cat food because they just keep growing and multiplying.
- April Russo (app103)
Yup, i Live in Jamaica:) And nooooooooo i don't look like TI:p
- Gordon Swaby
I'm a brazilian guy, who writes computer programs, likes math, physics, wines and jazz. Oh, and I'm not a nerd. Really. Nor a perfectionist - just noted I missed 's' on 'writes'.
- Arnaldo M Pereira
Hi I'm pete, working at the Danish consulate general in sao paulo, brazil. My focus is the oil and gas sector, and cannot use friendfeed for anything in my daily work... but like to come in here and de-stress a bit... Nice to meet you Mona.
- Peter Efland
Oh wow Peter, that sounds amazing!! Nice to meet you, too and thank you so much for introducing yourself! :)
- Mona Nomura
Hi Mona, I'm a girl geek who writes software. I'm still learning how to use FriendFeed. I like your idea to collect intros here. :-)
- Julie Bovee Hill
Hi Mona - I'm a marketing geek who loves to find ways to be creative with tech. I have a sincere appreciation for art and design, but I'm not much of an artist myself. I enjoy web design, video editing, and dvd authoring, and writing. Oh yeah... and my son has a pet turtle named SHELLdon.
- Dennis O'Neil
Love the thread, it was great reading and an excellent idea. Love how people responded. (for others: I'm the Zu, hip-hop artist for some years and I am a power user, collection agent for a telecommunication/broadcaster company in Montreal, Quebec. <0, GEEKS!

Hi Mona - I'm Rick, based in Tokyo. I like communicating with people in both English or Japanese, cycling, photography, drumming, authoring video, gadgets, scripting. よろしくお願いします!
- Rick Cogley
I reshare this to Ideas & Inspiration room :) These are so realistic!
- Kristian Salonen
I'm sorry but this is unbelievable:) I'll give credit to the artist upon more convincing proof! The photogenic look of the tiger and lion really helps the artist's case though:)
- Roney Smith
I'm with Roney... I find this hard to believe... or maybe I'm just jealous that I can't even get stick people right!
- Jasmin Smith
you cannot win on the interwebs. draw some crap it doesn't get noticed. draw something amazing in pencil and people say it's not real.
- Joe Breen
I'm really happy everyone liked these. They're my most liked entry to date, Thanks! There also seems to be some question about whether these are actually Pencil Drawings.I can assure you that they are. When I get home, I should have the links. I have more drawings, too.
- Michael Fidler
from fftogo
Thanks Enrique, I'll post some more soon. They are a little more obvious than these ones. As Luke points out; without being able to look closely it's impossible to tell. He's right; but up close it's more obvious. I'll upload the originals to Picasa later, and then you'll be able to zoom in with any photo viewer and see for yourselves. I can't believe how many people liked these. A few people have reposted them already. Thanks!
- Michael Fidler
Absolutely awesome, Michael. You are extremely talented. Everyone should repost these pix and help to make you famous. You should be doing this full time - you obviously have some passion for this. Bravo.
- Chris Loft
These are really beautiful, Michael. Do you sell them?
- Shannon Jiménez
Chris, I would love to say they're mine, but it's not true. I've had them for a while, but I'll find the artists names. It will just require a little backtracking. Besides, they deserve the credit; all I did was find them:-)
- Michael Fidler
Cut the bullshit! :) Photos are very good.
- Burçak Çubukçu
I draw alot in pencil, but they are amazing, the best for me is the girl, that is the most photo-like one. :o)
- Rob Sellen :o)
I agree Rob, the girl is amazing. My favorite by far! Wait until you see it close up! It's really had to tell, even up close!
- Michael Fidler
Burçak Çubukçu If these were photographs, they would be very good. As Pencil Drawings,(which they are), they're amazing.
- Michael Fidler
@Burçak Çubukçu I can't tell if your serious now or just kidding around. I hope your just having fun! If you are serious, I've never given you a reason to question my integrity, nor do I ever intend to. However, the second set is up now, so judge them for yourself, but don't judge me! http://ff.im/1BJh5 BTW, I messed up and reposted the shot of the women again. Oh well. Hope you like them:-)
- Michael Fidler
@Michael: try deviantART, not Picasa, to submit your artworks
- LouCypher
WOW "I can't believe it's in pencil"
- sofarsoShawn
LouCypher, I know it well, but I don't see why I would want to do that. I hope everyone knows by now that they're not mine? I'm sorry, but I can't say it any clearer than that.
- Michael Fidler
nah, i don't believe it is done in pencil. i am sure it is photoshopped :)
- hasin hayder
I'm finding this both interesting and humorous at the same time. There's a separate message board where this post is being discussed and it has another forty comments on it already. I think its great how this has created some lively discussion, considering that when I posted this I was doubtful if anyone would even like it. When I went to sleep last night there was only had 3 or 4 likes...
- Michael Fidler
Very interesting. I would like to see them up close and in person...just to make sure. Bill said it's real and possible. Your 2nd set of picts look like pencil. Nice work in finding these!
- LaFern Cusack
Kol, I can't thank you enough! Kol found another post which helps to prove that these are done in pencil. I had my doubts about a few of them because I collected them from several different sites over time, but the site Kol found has done a great job pulling together an impressive collection of these drawings and more. Take a look - http://www.flickzzz.com/2009...
- Michael Fidler
Actually there are more than what this site shows. There's an entire set with the cats(little cats), which I have, and there's a new portrait set.
- Michael Fidler
Found your post here, Michael. :-) I tried my best to find the artists.
- Kol Tregaskes
Amazing and very very very good.... Very impressive ...

@Abby Wow, The million dollar question! Way too early but if I had to speculate, at the point in time: Steelers vs. Redskins/Packers/Giants :P
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
@sofarshawn Do you REALLY want to know? ...boxer briefs :P
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Follow-up question: If both of you are Jamaican, I assume one or both of you know how to cook some Jamaican food, so when can I come over for dinner?
- Shevonne
lol@Shevonne We don't cook Jamaican....yet! But you can come over for some Mac n' cheese anytime!
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Damn - how can you not cook Jamaican? Not even ackee and saltfish? The shame...
- Jamie
@Patrick Actually, my legal name is Sheyhu. People call me Shey for short, and I like it better. Easier to spell too :) I was named after Shehu Shagari http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Was "Cool Runnings" an accurate picture of Jamaican community life, mon, or was it just more Disneyfied garbahj?
- .LAG liked that
@Abby We met at church, as teenagers. It was love at first sight. Then she dumped me. Long story short, we're living happily ever after :)
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
@Nathan I honestly can't pick out any one thing -- but one of the coolest things about Friendfeed is how supportive the community is.
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
If you could pick one city to move to besides the city your currently reside in, where would you pick and why??
- Amani
@Mo Like I told Patrick: My legal name is Sheyhu. People call me Shey for short, and I like it better. Easier to spell too :) I was named after Shehu Shagari http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
@Steven Jamaica's national dish: Ackee and saltfish w/ fried dumplings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... . And as Jamie keenly pointed out, it's a shame that I don't make it myself. I know how to, just never done it
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
@Amani I would lean towards Atlanta -- solid negro population, lots of web nerds, and decent weather. Or somewhere in Florida
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Interesting choice of cities. Don't let the Atlanta natives hear you refer to them as "negro population". They might get a bit peeved. LOL. Miami has a nice Carribean population as well. What sports did you play growing up?
- Amani
In Jamaica, just soccer really. When I came to Canada I learned how to play basketball, baseball and more recently, football
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
LOL@Amani You're right, poor choice of words :P Forgive me y'all.
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Shey - read most of that Wikipedia entry - interesting - always cool knowing origins of names I think. Cool name. Oh, and given the comment above - I have to ask howcome no cricket?
- Patrick Jordan
@Patrick Thanks :) As for cricket, I used to know the rules, but never played. Was probably too small to hold up the bat :P
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Do you know how many non trivial zeroes exist for the Riemann Zeta function that are on the line x = y?
- Parth Awasthi
I tried cricket - outdoors and indoors - when in the UK - I'll stick to baseball thanks very much :) So - do you support Jamaica in football? (soccer, blech hate calling it that)
- Patrick Jordan
Hope you get back to World Cup too Shey - Jamaica's had quite a few good Premier League (and old First Division) players. Is it true basketball has overtaken cricket in popularity?
- Patrick Jordan
@Patrick I can't say for sure but I wouldn't be surprised. Jamaica is becoming increasingly Americanized.
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Oh - there's a question - is that a good or bad thing?
- Patrick Jordan
@Abby I'd have to say probably 3-5 years ago. Less responsibilities, more free time, and I was less self-centered too. Don't take it the wrong way, I'm VERY happy with my marriage -- but our living situation is pretty depressing at times and our jobs are quite stressful at the moment
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Are you more a reggae fan or hip-hop? Favorite artist?
- Amani
@Patrick I honestly don't like it. I feel like many Jamaicans are aspiring to live a life they can't afford based on the American culture they are bombarded with through the media.
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
@Amani Hip hop in my teen years, definitely reggae now. My favourite artists are Chino, Wayne Marshall, General Degree, Daville, I Wayne, to name a few
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
Stuff like this amazes me so much more when it is a group of people than one individual. Simon Cowell's comment to them sums this up in a way, I think.
- Erik Gulliksen
It has been long-rumored, but it seems that there will, in fact, be a LEGO Rock Band title. The game has been officially announced for the 360, PS3, Wii, and the Nintendo DS. All versions will hit near the holidays this year. The game "will allow families, tweens and teens to experience a wild journey to rock stardom where they can 'Build a Band and Rock the Universe.'

"Welcome to the Comic Sans Café, the online Comic Sans type specimen and information resource. Comic Sans is the groovy script font which comes with the Windows 95 Plus! pack and is now available for the Apple Macintosh. Although it might be seen as a novelty typeface, which is great for titles, it's also extremely readable on-screen at small sizes, making it a useful text face."

@Mona this is historical site - you don't remove monuments just because you didn't like human after which it is erected? like Iraqi had been removing S.Hussain's monuments, or my stupid ex-compatriots repealing Lenin's statues after USSR's collapse - I hope you are not clueless and stupid, eh? ;)
- A.T.
@jasminsmith did you explain him why you are CS-intolerant ? :)
- A.T.
comic sans is my perfered font, i have double vision, and its easier to read. I really dont understand all the hatred over a font style, its like criticizing the way people write. Hey, at least they can write! :o

A Mississippi woman who was shot in the head not only survived but made herself tea and offered an astonished deputy something to drink, authorities said Friday. Tammy Sexton, 47, remained hospitalized three days after being wounded by her husband, who killed himself after he shot his wife. She is expected to fully recover.
- Shey, Jamaican of FF
That happened in Jackson County, where I grew up. I'm as surprised as the next person that she survived a close-range .38 round to the head. But that she offered tea to the deputy kinda makes sense, in a Mississippi sort of way.
- Chris Baskind
I have the crappiest version of the EeePC (a free gift from my bank). despite it's 2GB HD and 16bit colour, it's still a handy little machine. I would definitely consider purchasing a "real" mini computer like this one.
- Jasmin Smith
I did it! I'll have a new Asus EeePC 1000HE in a few days!
- Michael Hocter
Wow, that free shipping was FAST! It's here, it's here, it's here, and it's every bit as cool as I hoped it would be.

I'd admit it...I was getting a little misty-eyed. Hard not to.

When will Simon Cowell bag the ugly ass haircut?
- Alex Scoble
I love these things. Worth watching.
- Robert Scoble
Robert, agreed. I wish the iphone had the ability to send a link to a youtube video quickly so this could be sent to my daughters today

I wish they tuned down the audience a bit... Could barely hear her at times
- Mark Philpot
this lady certainly has a voice! good for her i say for being brave. :)

OMG, I'm in tears here. That was lovely and wow that song with all that. Had to favorite it. </sentimental wimp>

Is good to see what nature can do. Incredible voice!
- Rafael
That's a magnificent clip, I wish America's Got Talent was so entertaining and surprising.
- Jonathan Coffman
i watched this last night, love her! Her voice is a true gift.
- Laura Zickus
Thanks for sharing that - perfect for this time of year
- Jesse Stay
She's this year's Paul Potts. Great voices, the pair of them.
- Mark H
That was just amazing. And the perfect song for both her situation and to start the waterworks. Now i have to follow the show and see if she wins.
- Kevin Fox
While I absolutely detest these shows, I must say, this woman got to me.
- Rob Michael (Atmos Trio)
Oh, Duh. Got it, Kevin. This reminds me of the British man who sang opera. It was unbelievable. I think our American shows shoudn't limit the age. I'd love to see what some of the older folks here can do.
- Dawn
Dawn, America's got talent doesn't limit age either
- Jesse Stay
Great! I was thinking of American Idol. Never seen America's Got Talent.
- Dawn
"so you think you can dance" limits at 30 years or so. Such a shame.
- Kevin Fox
"So that's just one side of me!" Hahaha. So nice, she's courageous and willing, good game! So modest to have her walk away after her performance, I'm almost crying.
- ElijahBailey-Zu of FF <0,
Wow. I usually avoid all of these types of shows. But that was very cool!
- Louis Gray
I actually felt a lump form in my throat. Good for her.
- cecily
As LG said, it's my first view of that. Damn talents' shows, they got me.
- ElijahBailey-Zu of FF <0,
Not bad! I still prefer this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch... - That said, it was a surprisingly good performance. Not as much as Paul Potts, who was entirely horripilative and transcendent.
- david beckwith
This was a surprise--and lovely, thx
- susan mernit
Awesome performance. I've never seen the look of pleasant surprise on Simon's face before. You could tell that even he enjoyed it. He still needs to get a better haircut though.
- Alex Scoble
Britain may have talent, but that's more than I can say for Simon Cowell. The man is the Antichrist, as far as i'm concerned.
- Iain Baker
He was a tamed little kitteh for 6 minutes during that performance though.
- Alex Scoble
Don't know enough about Cowell to make a value judgement on the man. Sometimes (and I don't know if this is the case with Cowell) the a-hole attitude is a public front. It's possibly the case with Gordon Ramsey, and it certainly is with Ann Robinson - I've been to a recording of 'The Weakest Link' at Pinewood Studios, and she switches 'bitch mode' on and off along with the cameras.
- Ian May
Wow! Brings back memories when I first saw paul potts...
- Jorg Jansen
Seriously? This reeks of scripted viral. The show caught (online) fire in '07 with the Paul Potts audition...arguably the hottest shared video of the year. When the show returned last year, there wasn't an act even minutely close to the WOM impact Potts had generated the privious year. Clearly the BGT online buzz strategy for '09... Potts 2.0. #fail
- Zach Lytwyn
The best thing about this thread is that there is really only one cynical jaded comment out of all of them.
- cecily
Watching Simon's eyes go wide was soooooo worth it.
- Great Scott!
ahh, the power of the edit. great job of making her look like a 'cat lady' for the first several minutes. all the more powerful when we find out she's not totally daft.

- Adam
For those who work somewhere that uses an MS Exchange backend for their mail, this has existed for years.. but only for those within the same exchange domain, and only if they use exchange instead of pop3. You can recall your emails, this looks like they've added a 5 second delay before google sends your email.
- alphaxion
AOL users have been able to do this for years, but only with emails sent to other AOL users. And there is no time limit on it, as long as the email is still unread. If the recipient hasn't read it yet, you can still yank it right out of their inbox a few weeks later. (and they let you check status too, so you know if they did or not) It can be really weird when someone does it to you and you see the mail in your inbox, then it just disappears.
