how come the video doesn't work in firefox?
- jason burton
Video and editing were beautiful - oh, wait, it's about content, right? :-)
- Tom Landini
It worked just fine for me in FF on both windows xp and os x.
- Chris
odd, must not be up to date on something. Had to use IE to get it working.
- jason burton
@jasonburton - you should try to re-install Flash. I have seen that fix problems like that in the past.
- Chris
The preview frame before you start the video isn't very flattering to Leo :)

Jason: it's working for me on Firefox.
- Robert Scoble
Tom: @rocmanusa will thank you for your compliment. He makes me look good.
- Robert Scoble
Indeed- Thanks, Tom. As for the preview frame- I tried changing that at least 10 times but our "system" can sometimes leave a lot to be desired.
- Rocky Barbanica
Great guy and great interview. Love the blast from the past metnion of Pointcast as a very early real-time web example ...
- Patrick Jordan
met Leo in person in TO , a few yrs back ,, Super Friendly , Easy going , approachable ... even bought a few beers for the table ... Its good to be LEO
- johnpiercy
Just watching the second part now. Also love his take on how awful local news on TV is - so true ...
- Patrick Jordan
I had the same problem getting the videos to play in FF. I ended up d/ling them and playing them in GOM.

You're missing out, Chris. Top Gear is awesome. I've seen it having the same ratings with Americans as most American Drama shows.
- Shafiq Jetha
from twhirl
Isn't there an American version due out soon?
- Brian Sullivan
No offense, but I imagine an american version will preserve none of the qualities that TopGear has. For a start, Clarkson, May and Hammond are a completely irreplaceable combination (even though Clarkson is actually a very carefully crafted character, and nothing like his real self). Then there's the heritage of the show itself, it was after all born from the ashes of a "normal" motoring magazine show. I'm sure a US version would be great....for America. It wouldn't be Top Gear though
- Slippy "Threadsbane" Lane
+1 Alex - The Stig is, in fact the world's greatest racing driver robot, which is ironic when you consider that Top Gear's main "competitor" is Fifth Gear, which is presented by Tiff Needell, a man commonly acknowledged to be the world's WORST racing driver! :-)
- Slippy "Threadsbane" Lane
Need to go cross country. 5-6 does it for me.
- Robert Scoble
20 minutes is great like I currently get....
- jason burton
My XPS is awesome. 50 minutes max. Should be 60, but it takes 5 minutes each turning off and on. :)

my iPhone 3G can run for nearly 6-8 hours between charges ;-)

I get 2-3 hours on my Thinkpad T61, and 4+ hours on my MBP. I'd love to get a full 8 hours on both.
- Sparky, a big deal
not so important to me. would rather have more cores, memory, disk, faster hibernation/sleep/resume, etc. than battery life per se. don't mind schlepping the 2nd adapter or battery.
- Karim
I always get a 2nd battery or slice battery if available. Goal is to have 8 hours combined.
- James Kendrick
I'm currently battling with some thoughts on this. I have a 2.5hr mobile device that is super fast for coming out of standby, linking up to wifi, getting stuff done desktop-style. Other devices with even 4hrs aren't so productive!
- Steve 'Chippy' Paine
I like having the flexibility of going light or long
- James Tenniswood
The only time battery life (was) important to me was on planes to the UK and Hong Kong, but now that I can plug in directly in my seat, I really don't find myself taxing my battery life with my normal day to day usage.
- Andrew Leyden
I know. I'm still trying to find another site reporting this besides ESPN.
- jason burton
Yes way. He started the process earlier this month so he wouldn't get fined for having it on his uniform. God, I love my crazy-ass criminal-thug Bengals. I really, really do.
- Cyndy
Yeah, the Star Wars prequels really were poor films. Something like "Children of Men" is much better film making, and without all the spaceships and crap. Special Effects films are kind of like hair bands and heavy metal guitar solos. They replace the art with the machinery of artifice.
- Dean Terry
So good. they should have done this to him after the first three (made).
- Morgan
My theory on the prequel v original= the orginal trilogy was so open ended - it expanded the mind into this universe beyond imagination. Even in the first one - Obi Wan discusses The Clone Wars with little or no "dumbing down." A real conversation - like explaining to a teen ager old WW2 or Vietnam stories. But in the prequels - everything was dumbed down, explained - that massive universe from the first three was shrunk down and tied up all nice and neat. The mystery died - and so did the luster....
- George Smith
Many bothans died to bring us these photos
- Josh Haley
I'm not sick of Star Wars...how could you ever get sick of that? I'm sick of the crapified versions of Star Wars that Lucas foisted on us in the last 10 years in order to sell merchandise.
- Alex Scoble
that Indiana movie wasn't good either. I did REALLY like "The Phantom Menace" though,,, but his batting average is not what it used to be.

"Steadicam inventor Garrett Brown has also concocted a slew of flying, swimming and diving gadgets that will put Olympics viewers right in the middle of the action. He explains his inventions in this Q&A with Wired.com. "

if there is to be a catwoman then she should be on the list to be considered. I'm not sold on there needing to be a catwoman though in this incarnation of batman. Not sure it fits.

I like using the disqus plugin for wordpress to help manage the spam.
- jason burton
Unfortunately, what's most likely going to have to happen is that I'm going to have to write PHP code [shudder] to do what the built-in tags should be able to do. At this point, though, it would appear that all the functionality is there. Now, I just need to move the old posts from the Textpattern database to WP which I will do by hand because I want to cull.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Shey, no. I don't tag my posts so I'm using that feature to load custom .css files on a per-post basis.
- Akiva Moskovitz
I've only recently started using Disqus, but I've had a WP blog for a few years now, and always found askimet does a good job filtering out the spam idiots
- Ian May
Luckily for me, I've never had to worry about spam because I don't allow comments.

at every stage of our two boys lives my wife and i have commented "that'll be one for their therapist" whenever we've done something that tormented or traumatized them - usually its us embarrassing them in some way - nice to see that someone is helping this along w/ these cool products ;)

i actually like the baby burger idea -- comfortable, secure, etc -- the third photo not so much..
