BTW, I was home so just a couple beers. Lots of water. It was 100º out here, - Larry Kless via twhirl
For SF we had a hot few days...high 80's :) - Justin Korn
I wish I could say something interesting here, but I'm one of the few people on this planet who doesn't drink alcohol (well the odd glass of Pimms and Rose Wine on the odd occassion). - Kol Tregaskes via twhirl
Oh yeah, my kind of thread. A couple of glasses of shiraz so far, but it's only early. Weed makes me go to sleep, though I support legalisation. - Michael C. Harris
I just finally stepped away from my Dell laptop where I was coding in Java/JSF for my dayjob and switched to my Macbook, where I'm just now getting my feed on for the night. :) - Brian Daniel Eisenberg
Shit...now I've gotta stay up....DAMN you Anna - Justin Korn
Love watching comment edits in near real *refresh* F5 F5 F5 time... I wish we had wiki like history to watch the evolution of comments in real time. That would be super cool. - Brian Daniel Eisenberg
cool idea. somebody should make something like a codeswarm project for friendfeed. - Mladen Srdić
From Environmental Graffitti: "Antarctica is the coldest and most barren continent on the face of the Earth, with spine chilling temperatures as low as -130°F (-90°C) in the winter. There is next to no vegetation, no permanent population and not a hotel in sight yet people still flock to the area in their droves to get a glimpse of the abundant wildlife and marine life, and these floating beauties: icebergs." - Mark Trapp via Bookmarklet
Wow. Aquafresh has some good branding! - Louis Gray
I'll be the wet blanket and say if you find a "free" tool you really love, you should see if the author takes donations and tell your friends about it. Because making even a simple application is actually kind of hard! - Paul Reynolds
Mmm. Add over 40s? I love smartphones for their features. I hate voice calliing though! But my friends are the opposite so its probably true. - Steve 'Chippy' Paine
o mio dio, e io che ne ho giusti giusti 30??? (ops!) oh my god, and what about me, exactly 30? - michele
+1 'Chippy', 45 when I got my first "cell" phone aka mobile within 18 months replaced by current smartphone, use most the features though very light on voice calling. Mobile web, calendering, email, music, GPS, SMS are more valuable to me. Could not go back to regular mobile now. - Nick Cowie
I don't hate them. They just don't give what I consider value for the cost - Geoff Longman
Remember waiting at home for a phone call? Cell phones = freedom. - Matthew Davidson via twhirl
Answering machine=freedom in my world. The cell phone is just another way to be annoyed by people I'd rather not talk to. - JMS
Cell phone = answering machine, too. When I'm out with my wife and kids, we can split up and regroup without prior agreement. Nobody calls me except my wife. Maybe that is the difference. - Matthew Davidson via twhirl
Could be. When I'm out, I'm usually with my husband. And he's one of the few people I really want to be in mostly constant contact with. - JMS
this is way too general. 34 year old bf lives by his. it's always with him. he definitely loves it - Kamilah Gill
44 and loved my Blackberry (still in mourning) but am happy with my Razr....don't go anywhere without it. - Beth Tribe
the article is ridiculously vague. most people over 30 only use "12%" of the features. Yeah, that probably includes stellar features like the "ringtone store" and "theme store". Yeah, count my in that bunch of users. I use only a fraction of my crackberry features (mail, web, phone, address book, sms, mp3 and a few others). - Rob Diana
Doesn't seem like age has anything to do with it. It's just personal preference. :-) - JMS
when you have a cell phone, it;s almost like you never have an excuse for not getting back to someone immediately. - edythe
i'm tethered to two and i'm 32. i feel naked without them. - Morgan
I do not hate cell phones but I do hate voicemail. - Jauder Ho
I got my first one last year when I was 35 and I don't talk much on it. Only a few know it. I mainly use it for email, text and IMing - RAPatton
We need better phones, better customer service, and better rate plans. - Mike Reynolds
+1 on Deepak's comment. (Interestingly, most gadget geeks I know are *over* 30.) - karen2
+2 !! I am over 30 and I have a perverted love for cell phones. I need to get a new one once a year or else I get physically ill. I also use all possible features on the phone to the point where the phone is exhausted and begs to be replaced. I know many like me. - SciPhu
It is not that I hate cell phones; I hate the notion that appears to have entered our society that we should be happy to use cell phones to do *so* many things. I don't want to read a book on a mobile phone or use it to take photos. I want to be able to have a phone that does one thing very very well. I want one where the sound is clear and robust, where the calls go through rapidly and where the network doesn't crash at the first sign of a local crisis. - Jill O'Neill
One thing I never understood is why people assume that a cell phone has to be intrusive - the most common complaint I hear is that they will always be 'on call'. Just switch the thing off! It's your phone and you decide on its usage policy. Also, it would be nice to get a phone that just phones. And US cell plans *suck* - Rajarshi Guha
People who make generalizations all are silly :P (Said the woman who is over thirty and likes her cell phone.) - Abby Martin
I'm over 30 and don't enjoy having a cell phone. I have it off much of the time, much to the consertantion of some phone-addicted friends. My biggest complaint is it dictates a lot of other people's behavior toward the "rude" "obnoxious" and "self-important" side of the scale. It's acutally quite distrubring to see such modern technology used for such utter pointlessness - outside of work. - Jason Kaneshiro
I'm 43 and I'm happy with my mobile. I turn it off when I go to sleep, though. - Bill Sodeman
I am 42 and love my cell phone. I even love to send Twitter message via SMS on my cell phone. I leave it on 24 hours a day. - Paul L. McCord Jr.
I'm 55, and I love my Treo, which is next to my pillow all night for occasional surfing, texting, reading, and time checks (I'm too near-sighted for a clock). - Cindy Bartorillo
I never used the features of my cell phones, not even the 'smart' ones. Have a blackberry now. Different story. Never have I used so many features or customised so heavily :) - Daniel Swan
My parents are 60+. They just got iPhones and are loving them. - Brian Newman
bollocks. My father ripped his car phone of his car and put it in a briefcase before there were freely available handheld cellphones here in the early 80s. - Duncan Riley
Pretty much every tech product, whether a mobile phone or a web app, has a feature list — a big list of things that product promises to do. Companies are proud of their long feature lists and consumers love to compare the features of their new gadget against that of their friends'. But there is one thing that's even more important than all of this. The user interface (UI). - AJ Batac via Bookmarklet
Now that I think about it, I could do with about 10 more options :) - John Worthington
I have yet to discover someone who: 1. is passionate about photography 2. lives near me *AND* 3. wouldn't mind teaching me to share their passion. When I do, I think I can revisit this post. Liking to be able to do so. - Michael J Cohen

FWIW, Musicbrainz Picard works pretty well for me. I finish up by using Windows Media Player to fill in some of the missing fields but the latest versions are particularly painful while trying to do this. - Jauder Ho
Picard changed half the album titles and half the dates on mine when I ran it a few months back. I go with a purchased copy of Tag&Rename http://www.softpointer.com/tr.... and do an album/batch at a time myself now. - Michael W. May (Joffi)
Picard is what screwed it up when the power went out mid disk write. can't blame the tool really :( - Michael J Cohen via Alert Thingy
Well, if the power went out... It's not the tools fault. I do also use Tag&Rename but like using Picard as a first pass. - Jauder Ho
Borj-e Milad (aka Milad Tower, Persian: برج میلاد ) is the tallest tower in IRAN. Built in between the Shahrak-e Gharb and Gisha districts of Tehran, it stands 435 m (1,427 ft) high from base to tip of the antenna. The head consists of a large pod with 12 floors, the roof of which is at 315 m (1,033 ft). Below this is a staircase and elevators to reach the area. Milad tower is the fourth tallest tower in the world after the CN Tower in Toronto, Ostankino Tower in Moscow, and the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai. It is also currently 12th tallest freestanding structure in the world. - AdibA via Bookmarklet

Yeah. I just embedded on a page. It's pretty limited as far as I can tell. Have to explicitly "whitelist" up to 10 numbers for the beta. I have simple test page up on one of my r&d sites. - Brian Daniel Eisenberg
I love how you guys grab a hold of new technology, give it a good shake, and report back to the home team here on FF... you all rock my day! thanks! ;-) - Susan Beebe

So far I've only been able to TXT "help" from my mobile to Zeep. Response I got back is "For HELP, please visit http://zeep.me or email help@zeep.me. Reply STOP to opt out. Std/other charges may apply" Uhh ok, now what? Suppose I should see if they have any API docs :) Will report back. From their Developer site: "Any messages sent via our API to the user you subscribed with will be sent to that test phone. " Finally found developer site: http://zeepmobile.com/develope... - Brian Daniel Eisenberg
Cool... :-) i will integrate it on my site (may be i should say, i will "try" to integrate it..) - Rolando Sacramento
@Mona Rogers is pure evil. I may have a rant on them coming up soon - Shey

RyanEs, try looking around for ghost towns (try www.ghosttowns.com). One of my favorites is Bodie, CA which I am heading out to tomorrow. http://bit.ly/152Lq5 - Jauder Ho
