I got very addicted to Second Life a couple years ago, and lost sleep because of it. Online addiction is very real. It's not easy to break, either -- we all use computers so much in our daily lives that we can't just stop going online. It's like an alcoholic being forced to work in a bar all day. Some can do it without getting addicted again, but for many it would be very, very hard.

From the page: "The secret to eternal youth is surely not to drink your own urine, or smoke 60 a day, or whatever else some 120-year-old peasant on the Mongolian Steppes has decided, but to pursue, to the point of near-obsession perhaps, a passion." Damn right! Our youth-obsessed culture has got it all wrong. You don't stay young by running marathons, doing yoga 4 hrs a day, or getting a facelift. You stay young by being passionate about something, and learning something new every day. And realizing that every day is precious, so you need to do what you love every minute.
