I will now go. I intend to return with 100% more booze than I have now.
@Lea_Ada_Franco: You mean he got packages from Fra-Gee-Lay?
Can't stand it any longer! Truck is fixed, so I'm headed south to buy ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES!
@jason1749: Please tell me that's not the title.
@augieshoots: Exactly! They're not the flat, garish colors imposed by the limitations of the time. Just crazy.
@kierongillen: Even though I prefer the 70's stuff, I did like some 80s EJ songs. Just not enough of 'em!
@kierongillen: Quick answer, pretty much anything pre-1977. If I may, may I suggest a visit here: http://solarprestige.blogspot.com/ :)
@daveexmachina: I suppose some are geared towards the average rather than the exceptional. Or they're just stupid.
@daveexmachina: Read for yourself: http://www.the-isb.com/?p=2931 I just don't get people sometimes.
Read PHONOGRAM: SINGLES CLUB 5 & 6 back to back earlier this week. Liked 'em. Wonder if anyone helped @kierongillen with his Elton question?
Just now reading the comments section over at @theisb's about the ROCKETEER collection's color. Those people are INSANE.
Right on schedule, the 2 PM at Work Sleepies.

Hellboy meets the Mouse Guard
@Kincsem1874: Mostly white, with brown accents, and I think the exterior was some kind of vinyl. Big fat metal tonearm. Prob. 50's-early 60s
@Kincsem1874: It was a top-lid, but not a cabinet. It sat on the tabletop.
@Kincsem1874: When my grandfather died, it sold at auction. Wish I'd taken it, but I didn't really have a need for it or place to put it.
@Kincsem1874: It was through my aunt that I heard a LOT of old classic records, incl the Beatles' first US album.
This sounds odd, I know, but sometimes when I hear "I Saw Her Standing There" I smell my aunt's old record player from 1964.
They did a great job on the Fab remasters, no doubt, but would it have killed them to have included some bonus tracks?
"All You Need is Love". So naive, but the line "There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be" is an all time favorite.
Since reading so many Beatle bios, every time I hear "Baby You're a Rich Man" I think of Lennon taunting Brian Epstein.
I still expect to hear the alternate piccolo trumpet part at the end of "Penny Lane" every time I hear it. Very strange.
@mspark: I know! I can't believe he hasn't at least accidentally seen it on somewhere, but apparently not...
@augieshoots: Guess not! Perhaps it's part of the training package.
I still don't love the inane "Hello Goodbye"...but I can't help but smile at it sometimes. It's the red-headed stepchild of the album 2 me.
I also love the subtle rhythm shift as "I Am the Walrus" fades out with the ascending strings and people going "Everybody oop-ah" at 0:18.
@mspark: I work with a fellow that hasn't. And he has kids!
I've probably mentioned it before, but I absolutely love the little wistful instrumental bridges in "Your Mother Should Know".
