Kids aren't very good at accounting when they're all wacked out on high fructose corn syrup. My mom used to steal small amounts of candy from my stash as I ate it, so I thought I was consuming the whole lot, and didn't even notice the missing pieces. Also, I still love my mom.

Children need to bring their A game to accounting.

I know someone who introduced the concept of 'taxes' to his kid with candy charge to be delivered to the parents. The very first year (kid was very young), the tax was 100%.

Check this one out, also from the British Museum. http://bit.ly/1ygXm1. This one is BC. Artstic standards were pretty low at that time I guess.

It's brown sauce - tastes like um. Brown. I don't like it that much. The branded version is HP Sauce, which is loved my everyone in the UK apart from me it seems.

I know of the fact that salad cream exists, but I've never tried it or actually seen it in a store in the USA. I'd probably prefer mayo anyway. Wikipedia tells me that it is "boiled egg yolks, mustard, vinegar, and cream".

Brown sauce is the only possible condiment for bacon. Get real US people!!
- David Semeria
I've heard about this Brown Sauce for years. Now it's time to try some - I've just ordered some from Amazon: http://bit.ly/2laHhs They even have Salad Cream and I guess I'll have to try that too.

I did not think FreindFeeders would be so closed minded. Brown sauce is the blue collar term for a version of what Canadians call Steak Sauce. Usually it's a blend of molasses, vinegar, dates, sugar and spices. In the UK "HP" is the favoured brand. Personally I find it unpleasant as it's dominated by a vinegar-y taste. It's competitor , Daddies, is far smoother.

Oh yeah and salad cream....well as long as I can remember that's been a market dominated by Heinz...a US company. I love it. Poor man's mayo, sweet, sour and creamy.

Brown Sauce is great for eggs too. I love a fried egg sandwich smothered in brown sauce.

Brown Sauce is a British Institution - can't be faulted

Salad cream is a dairy-free emulsion invented as a cheap alternative to mayonnaise. Both salad cream and Brown sauce are vile-tasting concoctions and there is no reason for them to exist in this modern, enlightened age. ;-)

Ok. So salad cream sounds almost like Miracle Whip. Over here in the U.S., they usually either refer to it as Miracle Whip, or sometimes just "salad dressing" (not sure what, as that certainly gets confusing).
- Curtiss Grymala
Ahh... Okay then, Mayo is far superior to Miracle Whip (or generic "salad dressing"), so if that's what it is, then I'm not interested in it. Mayonnaise forever! As for "brown sauce", I'm guessing that it tastes similar to the knockoff brands of A1 Steak Sauce, which are all crap. A1 Steak Sauce is the only steak sauce worth a damn. A1 forever! :)
- Otto
http://bit.ly/11FyP7 Man! Amazon shipped the sauce fast. OK, so after the first taste I have to say that it tastes like A1, but slightly less flavorful and more tart. It's pretty good!

Hey I was going to say Bath. I'm serious. It's that courtyard that's in every Jane Austen movie.

I didn't comment b/c I thought it was an inside joke </shame>

the give away is the gentle arch to the line of the block- classical influenced late 1700s architecture- in costuming it's "empire," not sure what it is in architecture. Regency?
