Rajarshi - GoogleDocs offers other options like CSV as exports but I think only the Excel export maintains all the formulas and links to the web services used. Of course we would be happy to see the advantages of other back-up implementations (by definition redundancy is the point here :) - Jean-Claude Bradley

Steve - I don't know the full technical issues with OWW. This method just exports Google Spreadsheets as Excel docs. It does not deal with embedding, although we have done that on our wiki. That's ok for small sheets but I think confusing for very large spreadsheets that we often deal with. - Jean-Claude Bradley
