Nice, though it'd be useful to have something like a Python GData client get at the raw data (as opposed to storing as Excel sheets, though on Windows one could simply regenerate the Excel from the raw data) and save that as dumps

Rajarshi - GoogleDocs offers other options like CSV as exports but I think only the Excel export maintains all the formulas and links to the web services used. Of course we would be happy to see the advantages of other back-up implementations (by definition redundancy is the point here :)

Steve - I don't know the full technical issues with OWW. This method just exports Google Spreadsheets as Excel docs. It does not deal with embedding, although we have done that on our wiki. That's ok for small sheets but I think confusing for very large spreadsheets that we often deal with.
