I'll be buying one to replace my N95 when my current mobile contract expires. Mobile Me not really a factor. - Graeme Shaw
No and no. Not worth the plan pricetag. I just want it for data, not voice. I love VZW too much. - Corvida via twhirl
Yes, and yes. I look forward to push e-mail/calendar on my 3G iPhone! - Granteezy via twhirl
Yes, and no. Not sure if I want Mobile .me at the price. But I'd love a 3G iPhone. - Jason Ziglar
Yes, definitely going to get the new iPhone. mobileme had no influence. mobileme, actually scares me a little bit. - felix
Yes I will be purchasing a 3G. I already have a Touch which I love, and a Blackjack which I hate. Already have dot MAC acct - Mark Nassal via twhirl
Yes getting iPhone, getting Mobile Me was not a driver, it's the other way around. I used to have .Mac and didn't find it worth it, and was looking for a reason to sign back up. Integration with iPhone is it. - Jason Kaneshiro
Yes, will purchase. MobileMe not as important as 3rd party apps (e.g. OmniFocus), though it will help by enabling realtime synchronization - Dan Byler via Alert Thingy
as soon as my Verizon contract is up I'm getting a 3G iphone... I could care less about MobileMe.. I keep all my contacts and events online so I have nothing to sync. - Stefan Hayden
Still haven't seen anything that more completely meets my daily needs than Windows Mobile Pro. - Aura Mae
For $200, I'd consider buying an iPhone and never activating the phone. - Rick Wolff
I got caught up in the hype yestarday/monday but really my WM6 phone kicks its ass in almost every way but looks. And I can develop for it for free, in .NET. - Soulhuntre via twhirl
Despite AT&T exclusivity, I plan to get an iPhone 3G. mobile .me not a factor (GPS/Apps are) but I'll try it. Tired of WM&RAZR. - Joe D'Andrea
I also am looking at buying a 3G but wil still have to carry my blackberry because I am tied to Verizon. - Jon Erickson via twhirl
I'm going to buy a iPhone 3G. MobileMe wasn't a deal-maker, but it definitely completes the package for me. - Ben Vaughan via twhirl
No one else was creeped out by this WWDC a little? Apple's a very closed ecosystem that's growing really, really rapidly... http://is.gd/v98 - is that too alarmist? - felix
I'm definitely upgrading but MobileMe is just gravy. - Akiva Moskovitz
Sold my iPhone last Friday in anticipation so yeah I'll be getting the 3G. =) - saeba
No and no. Don't think 3G will be that much faster and I have all my contacts, etc. in exchange already. Waiting for an iPhone that can hold several movies (32 GB). If I didn't have exchange, I'm not sure I would try mobile me, but if I left my company, I might try mobile me. - Jack Richins
Yes, I'm really looking forward to buying the iPhone 3G but I don't really care about Mobile Me, though I'll probably get it. - Mitch Wagner
3G will help data, but I'm concerned about battery life. lower price point for the phone will encourage a whole bunch of people to buy, but the rumor is that the data plans through AT&T will increase (I heard +$264 over life of contract, +$11/mo@24mo). 3rd party apps will be a game changer. I really like my iphone 1.0 except for EDGE so I'll probably get the new one. I think I'm turning mac-anese, I really think so. - grant
absolutely. I've been a .mac member for years. finally I have a reason to own it :). - Ainsworth Boyle via twhirl
+1 to grant for so perfectly sliding in that 80's reference. :) - felix
The $299 comes in Black too (http://www.apple.com/iphone/sp...). I'll probably get the $199 because I really haven't run into a problem with only 8GB on my current iPhone. - Scott Cropper
Very tempted to get a $199 iPhone now!! $299 one is even *more* tempting with 16GB storage - Susan Beebe
I haven't run into problems with my 8G iPhone either, however, I'm not loading apps on it. The apps will use space to store their stuff. I think the 16G for me. - awilliams via twhirl
Why can't we have a $299 iPhone in black? What's the point of this limitation? - Mo Jawhari
The 16GB $299 iPhone 3G does come in black (and white). The 8GB $199 iPhone 3G only comes in black. - Scott Cropper
while its tempting...the price...the features...im still a believer in ze ANDROID :P now digg me down :P - krz9000
Black, so I won't see minor blemishes and scratches as much as a white. - Mike Reynolds
actually, if its like my experience with iPods the white will look better over time than the black. Due to the reflection of the black it will show finger prints and scratches more so than the white. - Scott Cropper
I'm ready to buy the $199 now. But since I have to wait a month til July 11, it will give me more time to save enough to buy the $299, Sweet! - Danny M
I'd get the $299 phone; not sure about which color - Albert Willis
I'm not sure I'm going to get either. Even for $199, I'm not sure if it is compelling enough to upgrade from my current iPhone. - Andy Roth
seems like all those people who were worried about the cheap price ruining some of the exclusiveness of the device will opt for the white one :) - MG Siegler
I'll get the 16gb model in magenta. OK, just kidding. The 16gb in black. - Mike Reynolds
Wait! Twitter was back up? I keep missing it. - Harvey Simmons
Yes, Twitter was up for a bit, but I couldn't use it because it was too slow. - Morton Fox
This is getting past ridiculous; we wouldn't have sat still for such an appalling record of availability by another service. So, Dave, how about that distributed Twitter architecture you proposed, was there any interest to help set it up? - Asteris Masouras
Asteris -- yes there was interest, but generally the people with the products are scared of pissing Twitter off. This I don't understand -- I think the Twitter folk would welcome a bit of redundancy. Everything they've said publicly and done with the Twitter API indicates that they believe federation is in their future, but mostly the tech industry is scared. Where are the swashbucklers? Where's the adventure in venture capital? :-) - Dave Winer
I'll believe that Twitter Inc. hearts federation when I see them take definite steps in that direction. If Microsoft & Yahoo are anything to go by, corps that live & die by the mass adoption of their services are anything but cool with federating & open standards. Only their users can keep them on the straight & narrow, or provide scaffolding for alternatives. As to your quasi-rhetorical questions about the guts of the industry, I wonder too :-) - Asteris Masouras
How can I find out if you've subscribed to my FriendFeed? - Lawrence Liu via twhirl
According to the little bubble, not me. Even though you said the other day I was being added to the World Wide Talk Show. ;-) Oops, can't press Enter for a newline. What I was going to say, prior to the Post button getting unexpectedly pressed, is that I cannot imagine following 20,000 (or even some fraction of that) on FF. It's gotta be tough as it is on Twitter. - Joanmarie
Guessing that comments are the way to let you know :) - Jed White
Holy crap. You've practically got the SNN goin' on - Scoble News Network ?? You will all be featured this week on Fast Company TV - Submit bio to ... - Charlie Anzman
This is the greatest thing to happen to anyone ever! Cheesecake for everybody. - Akiva Moskovitz
I let you know via Twitter, perhaps this is more appropriate. - bill shamam
IF you are able to WITHSTAND fair portion of Russian (sorry, but I try to bring here my community from Russian segment of livejournal.com after buyout disaster) and/or stream of Nokia-tablet/Maemo/etc related-stuff and/or a lot of bitch about this and that... http://friendfeed.com/silpol ;) - silpol
Robert, I appreciate your efforts, but I'm afraid that if I follow you (and you follow me in return), I'll have to deal with a lot of noise, and a lot of hype. Once you get worked up about something, you have this need to talk about it all the time, and to impose your point of view (ex: FaceBook). That's why I unsubscribed from your blog a while back. I couldn't deal with it any more. You shot down two of my comments without even bothering to consider them. Take this for what it's worth, no hard feelings. - Raoul Pop
You're not subscribed to me, here, but anything I have to say that might be interesting to you, I say in a comment anyway... I'm not very talkative, but I enjoy watching your conversation! - Kenneth LeFebvre
"My wife and I had dinner there once. A truly outstanding experience. No wonder it has five stars. Epinions.com has a level review/description: http://www.epinions.com/conten... Given the atmosphere (jacket and tie for the men please), the music (a live harpist when we were there) and the menu (you won't find chicken fingers and fries on it, and definitely no Sticky Mickeys) I can't imagine kids having that good a time. They'd probably wish they were at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue over in Fort Wilderness instead. C'mon Associated Press: This is a non-issue and not newsworthy (especially compared to other events IMO)." - Joe D'Andrea
"From Eric Richie on the Adium Blog: "Guys, listen, you're nuts if you think we're just going to drop all the work we've put in on the native video implementations. [MeBeam Integration] was a side project that Andy was working on. He wanted to release it so he did. It won't in any way detract from the other work we're doing. It's not meant to replace the real thing, simply something fun in the meantime."" - Joe D'Andrea
