This is beginning to resemble journalism. - Ian Tindale
im not sure its such a great thing facebook and friendfeed sitting in a tree. - Eran Even-Kesef
Good job Robert - Ruchit Garg
Definitely, I'm listening now. Wow! This is breaking news! - Manu Ullas
hopefully this turns out okay, don't want friendfeed to get ruined. great interview, that was fast reporting! - Dakota O'Neill
What are your thoughts Robert? - Amani
WD mate - Chris Saad
That was quick. Thanks robert. - Akshay Dodeja
Hoping this will lead to an improved/cleaner interface for Facebook...I prefer Friendfeed - Rick Bucich
so, so sad. I like(d) Friendfeed much more than facebook - Francisco Kemeny
home run for FF.. Facebook will be able to give developers a treasure trove of data one thing that Twitter is dominating on right now. Twitter has a huge developer community but isn't managing that. Here FB is poised to be huge - John Furrier
So classic that Robert has the first interview about this...Where's Louis? :) - Anthony Farrior
I think FriendFeed can help Facebook more than the other way around. - Manu Ullas
"very cool...." - Carter Rabasa
How do they plan to mix the teenagers with the geeks? - Jordi Soler
Amani: I am excited! Facebook has 800 employees and 300 million users. This makes both companies much more important. - Robert Scoble from iPhone
here was a comment on SiliconANGLE blog .. very funny .. "Hey, since we've copied almost every innovation you've had, guess you might as well play on the company softball team!" - John Furrier
Nice strategic move - Interesting to see how this will integrate and looks in 12 months - Alex Vermeule (@alexve)
to be honnest I was predicting google offer, then facebook preceed google on this, they are doing well, now rarding FF this is great, the sucess is to know when to pass to something else, the future will make the abtle wave, facebook rude for all geek it is time to code. - abdellah
You rascal Robert, bet you had wind about FriendFeed and FaceBook merger before today? Yes? Have not used either SM apps. much UNTIL Twitter locked my account. May have been a fortunate mishap as it turns out. Getting to know the beauties of both apps. =) - SashaKane
Awesome. Thanks. - M. Kong
Should be so very interesting. - Adam
Robert wastes no time on the reporting. CNN needs reporters like this. - JonInteractive
Not sure I am so jazzed about it....but congratulations to the FF crew. - Kreg Steppe
Honestly, I won't get used to following Robert Scoble in Facebook. Seems out of place to me. - Jordi Soler
Wow! I was not expecting that. - Devon Govett
Letter 'F' affinity and alliteration merger, classic playbook move. - James Watters
Did I hear someone laugh in the background when you asked about FF users being disappointed? - Paul Saarinen
Agreed Jordi - Rick Bucich
A good interview Robert. - Thomas Hawk
Thanks Robert! - shared and linked over on Phreadz : http://tech.phreadz.com/v... - kosso
Robert, mind if I transcribe this? (Unless someone else already has.) - Bruce Lewis from fftogo
Congrats on getting this story Robert. I agree--this is great, realtime journalism! - Sunshine
No mention of twitter? - Ivan Kirigin
Hahahaha...all that time you invested over here on FF paid off today! LMAO - Francine Hardaway
Francine: just watch what happens now. :-) - Robert Scoble from iPhone
do you have a small amount of FriendFeed shares Robert? - Torsten Eckert
NOOOOOOO. Damnit! I am praying that Facebook doesn't wall up Friendfeed. I was starting to build a site around Friendfeed :( - beersage
beersage: as Facebook is trying to break their users into a more public world, I doubt that you really have anything to worry about there. - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
Starting to listen to this now. Hoping you are right, Rob. - beersage
I hope so to. But regardless, I think that it was in reality necessary for FriendFeed to sell to really put the technology in front of a sufficient number of eyeballs. Facebook is probably the best acquirer that FriendFeed could have. (I would have not felt the same had FF been acquired by Google) - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
The thing with Friendfeed though is how I can share things outside of a 'wall.' I prominently feature the FF widget on my site. I'm just concerned of losing that capability as I was tinkering with delivering a new site w/ content primarily running through my Friendfeed account. I am to this day unable to do much outside of the wall. I am unable to subscribe to Fan Page updates in Google reader for instance. That is what concerns me about FB acquiring FF given my goals. - beersage
Robert sounded quite breathless in that interview. Thanks Robert. - Roberto Bonini
Great interview great Job!! - Kevin J Hatton
Wow! I'm in shock. I can't wait to hear this interview. - Micah Wittman from iPhone
This deal was about getting Paul and the team and nothing else - Stephen Pickering
@stephan, are you serious? FB is buying a concept, a technoloie, a structure, a content and a user list - abdellah
Unconvincing Paul Buchheit, the team is more exited of being part of bigger story - logical for them to move on - patrickdh
now how could a team that left google resist under a unique perception system, where the leader vision is upon any thing - abdellah
They want a way to turn their white pages into a yellow pages and the only guy on Earth who knows how to do it, is Paul - Stephen Pickering
It was only about the technology and the people. Most people are on also FB anyway. - James Myatt
My guess is that Paul got a tooooooooon of options and will soon be the No.2 guy at Facebook - Stephen Pickering
Glossing over of that "short term" question by the FF boys. It just seems more about the individuals at FF than it does the users of FF. "Their (Facebook) long term goals" Nice interview, Robert! - Melanie Reed
Well, it looks as if pass-through of FriendFeed Likes, Comments, etc. to Twitter is down. Will it be for good? Did Twitter do this in response to the acquisition? Or is it just a regular (though curiously timed) hiccup? - Alex Schleber
twitter dow!! - abdellah
Alex, my Facebook posts have been going through FriendFeed to Twitter today. :) - guruvan (Rob Nelson)
How did you record the phone conversation with Paul Buchheit? I went to BlogTalkRadio.com but... it‘s not clear at all :-( - Florin Grozea
Florin, rough transcript here: http://friendfeed.com/brlewis... - Bruce Lewis
I have a few choice words. @#%&. That is all. - Zachary TG
To do this call I used BlogTalk Radio's Cinch: http://cinch.blogtalkradio.com/ - Robert Scoble
Thanks for this, Scoble. - mp3WatchWorld
this is why your own personal website is always more important than friendfeed, Twitter and all the rest. that's never going anywhere - Terry O'Fee from BuddyFeed

Seesmic Desktop: An Early Look at the Future of Facebook Apps - http://mashable.com/2009...
This is the new race--who will ultimately be the best at drawing it all together? - Kathy Fitch
Looks very promising. This will be the first time I'm triggered to try seesmic. - Jorg Jansen
I definitely agree that the future of Facebook apps will be outside of Facebook because, while their data may not be very monetizable within Facebook, it definitely has value being applied elsewhere on the web where the context and user intent is different. - Devlin Dunsmore
Ryan
Last complaint for today: Companys: AVOID RackSpace. Huge ripoff. Five Nines? Lucky to get 3. Data? They just lost ours.
I'm sorry about Rackspace losing your data. I am getting the big guns to work on your account. That's inexcusable. - Robert Scoble
In the future if anything ever goes wrong like this again I'm at +1-425-205-1921 and I have the ears of everyone at Rackspace and will work to get your account fixed if you haven't gotten it fixed yet. - Robert Scoble
Robert: living proof the Zappos effect is contagious. - Victor Panlilio
Rackspace have been a real disappointment to me for a long time. Just because Robert says he's going to get the big guns involved is a BIG JOKE. - Amanda
Amanda: it's not a big joke. I spent two days with the chairman and another day yesterday. When we fail you we've messed up totally. What services are you using? - Robert Scoble
Just managed hosting. Frankly who cares whether you met the Chairman, I would be more interested to hear you spent a week in their call center but that would not allow you to drop a big "I'm important" name. - Amanda
Amanda: I have tons of contacts in the call center. Is this something I can fix? I'm on the phone with someone there right now. - Robert Scoble
Amanda: by the way, in June I'll be working in the call center. That's a great idea! - Robert Scoble
Amanda: if you go back and read my first two posts here I never mentioned the chairman. - Robert Scoble
Thanks Robert for your efforts. - Amanda
For what it's worth, I've said it before and will say it again. I have managed hosting with Rackspace and they are the BEST. Not by just a little, but by a lot. - Mike
We aren't perfect but we do care and not just about the "loud" voices, I'm trying to learn FriendFeed so I can be available to customers. E-mail me at bret dot piatt at rackspace dot com or call my mobile 210-867-9338. - Bret Piatt

I'm at Disqus talking about features I want in comments. I want live comments. Can we demonstrate why? Comment here now:
Hello, join in and let's show how friendfeed is now a chat room. - Robert Scoble
Because live comments are the future^H^H^H^H^H^H present - Christopher Galtenberg
Cause the web is now real time... catch up - Johnny Worthington
Yes. Without live comments, you're not competitive anymore. FriendFeed raised the bar for all. - Meryn Stol
Johnny: exactly! - Robert Scoble
Tell Daniel hi for me! - Jesse Stay
It gets people going and there is live interaction from everyone. - Amit Nangare
next one will cost you :-p - Don Bonaddio
Contributing by commenting! Love Disqus, it's allowed me to have an in-depth communication with my blog readers. However, live comments would rock. - Shane Adams
All this is, is an evolution of IRC chat and Usenet, now web-enabled. - Victor Panlilio
Also Disqus needs to incorporate content back from FriendFeed - Christopher Galtenberg
Hi Disqus. Listen to Robert :) - Roberto Bonini
You can join live comments here: http://beta.friendfeed.com/scoblei... (if you joined from my Twitter account you'll need to click this). - Robert Scoble
live is a must - Pierre-Etienne Vachon
This is - santiromero
Absolutely. - joey
Cool and groovy! - Carmella Cardina
I agree with Pierre. It is a must - Roberto Bonini
Live comments? What a great idea! But how to implement? ;) - Peter Kruit
Wow ... I didn't know Disqus before - Alexandre Marcondes
Nope, refuse to do it. Oh wait...crap! - CAJ, somewhere else
Live comments! - santiromero
Because people who think that their site is the only place where discussion lives misses the power and the potential of it. It's not about your blog with FriendFeed, it's about your blog with 5 different sites, all at once. - Johnny Worthington
I agree! Disqus + FriendFeed FTW! - Peter Liu
Live to comment live! - David
Its becomig impossible to track the comments here.:) - Roberto Bonini
Live is better than the alternatives. - Eric Logan
Live comments enables you to have a conversation and gain more insight into the topic that's being presented as the audience can facilitate brainstorming and more! - Eden Hensley
And it's cool pulling in comments from other countries live. It's Sat. morning here in Philippines. - Nick in Manila
Jesse: Daniel is here, says hi back. - Robert Scoble
if only it played a teletype noise as they appeared :-) - Robert O'Callaghan
Live comments FTW! - Jay Neff
And it being live is not just window dressing either. - Roberto Bonini
I do love Disqus! And twitter. And Jaiku! : ) - matthew bennett
You broadcasting?! - Jay Neff
Live is the big now. - Kevin Johnson
And notice that i import Disqus here. - Roberto Bonini
Without live comment--it's yesterdays news: Super lethargic. - Rob Michael (Atmos Trio)
I'm not sure everything has to be live... live comments might lead to less thoughtful comments. I appreciate when someone writes out a thoughtful comment which enhances a thoughtful blog post. - Rory Conway
Don't even know what Disqus is... - Mark Trenchard
Live comment totally suck. (snoogans!) - Richard Matthias
Mark: Disqus is a commenting service for bloggers and those who comment on them. Shoves those comments into friendfeed quickly too! - Robert Scoble
i'm trying to think of something novel to say here. +1 live commenting - Charles Ying
I just filmed a video here at Disqus, will get that up soon. - Robert Scoble
The boundary between IM and A-sync chat disappears, and all of it relevant to the parent topic, indexed and searchable, integrated with identity and exists across the social graph of the people participating. - Robert
So Robert: What do they think???? - Roberto Bonini
What, no Qik Robert? - Victor Panlilio
Roberto: everyone who sees this is rocked by it. They see their world changing. - Robert Scoble
Live comments rock. Would love to see live + shareability integrate - comment live, then broadcast it elsewhere to drive people back to where you're commenting. - Suzi Craig
Don't think Qik does HD - Roberto Bonini
Victor: no, I like the HD on my Canon 5D MK II better. But Qik has cool quality improvements coming. - Robert Scoble
Friendfeed is the new IRC. - DGentry
Denton: yes. This is NOT IM. This is going to be in Google in a few hours. IM is not. - Robert Scoble
More & more: non-live commentary feels like communicating via homing pigeon. - Rob Michael (Atmos Trio)
Live is the way to go! - Kevin Whalen
Denton: IRC doesn't have decentralized moderation. :-) - Robert Scoble
Live is nice but being able to do both live and non-live discussions using the same tool is the cat's ass - Brian Sullivan
Denton: No, but it should be able to be that if it -needs- to - Robert
i would like to customize the look of my disqus layout. - Mark Guim
Brian: agreed. The non live version is here: http://friendfeed.com/e... - Robert Scoble
make for more of a conversation... - Krikit Media
Anyway, thank you for helping with yet another demonstration of live comments. Now you can get back to watching @oprah. :-) - Robert Scoble
Who's oprah? ;-) - Victor Panlilio
Actually http://friendfeed.com/e... is live as well. - Brian Sullivan
friendfeed chat is here, very useful, when did this come out? today? - David Lynch
Brian: but that one needs to be refreshed manually. - Robert Scoble
No it doesn't not in my browser anyway. - Brian Sullivan
Because live and dynamic interaction is where this has all been going from the beginning. The only reason we were doing it the other way was a limitation in the technology that isn't there anymore. - Neal Jansons
Trying to wrap my head around what live comments offer smaller, less active communities...I guess the ability to have livelier exchanges when the conversation heats up. - Scott Rogers
If Friendfeed is the new IRC, then I'll have some popcorn while waiting for the bad ASCII art to appear. - Heather
Oh sure, ask us to comment then tell us to go away. ;) - Suzi Craig
Because can see the comments stacking up so I won't mention IRC by mistake - WorldofHiglet
...ooops - WorldofHiglet
Suzi: you can keep commenting if you want! :-) - Robert Scoble
Here I am on a boat, live commenting from a mobile device. - Chris Baskind
Anyone commenting from a bathroom? - Victor Panlilio
Actually, there are more spam messages coming through Disqus lately. They may want to clamp down on that challenge but I'm not sure how ... - LPH™ and his dog P™
Ok. I love Disqus too. Whatever you tell them treat them right. It's hard to beat FF anyways. - Carlos Lorenzo
I'm glad they haven't invented smellivision yet ;-) - Richard
Only one problem - my comments to FF get pushed to Twitter, which posts to my wall on FaceBook. Too many feedback loops. - Victor Panlilio
Live comments would be very cool. No more double "First". - KyleHase from twhirl
Scobleizernatordebutantificator: Will have another Guinness, then comment. Transparency is much more fun with booze. At least for the recipient . . . - Suzi Craig
hey, why not. Better, hook with Twitter, and everytime I have an @me, it sends me an email as if someone commented on my blog or replied to one of my comments, and I can reply to this message from my email. Twitter should be more like Disqus! Real time is just a buzz. - xavier vespa
Hi Giannii! - WorldofHiglet
Real time comments are the future, why not change now. - Daniel Rowley
i love live comments! - patrick
Robert, you've successfully got me on FF bandwagon. - Adi
Checking out FF for the first time. Cool...I like it. Thanks, Robert. - Anthony Weeks
This is the day of interactive communications and rapid feedback. CNN gets interaction and rapid feedback from its polls and Larry King call-ins. Bloggers get interaction and rapid feedback from blog comments. - Greg Griffith
I'd also like a few more basic features to work in Disqus. Like allowing readers to subscribe to *all* of a post's comments via email - currently they can only get emails when someone hits the little Reply button below a comment of theirs. A lot of folks like following all comments on a post once they're in on it. Also would like to be able to moderate trackbacks without workarounds, and to have the whole Moderation section work much better ... - Patrick Jordan
real-time is the future and will push filter and discovery..... - david fishman
Real time comments in blogs FTW !!! - Nir Ben Yona
I've actually got this little popup friendfeed window open... it's taking up way too much of my life right now. ;) - Susan
Agreed. FF beta is the way forward, and live Disqus comments can only strengthen that. Today's @oprah and @aplusk will add awareness to the social web, but as long as FF and D continue, the social web will truly move along. - Pinksy
@Giannii, can you give details on how soon email subscriptions are coming? In this thread http://disqus.disqus.com/notify_... Daniel Ha said you guys were working on email subscriptions a year ago. - Rob Boek
@ Giannii - cool, glad to hear it. Please look into better / more complete Moderation as well. As it stands now, you lose a lot when turning Disqus on for a Wordpress blog (vs. what we had before in Wordpress's own admin panel) ... - Patrick Jordan
I just recently added Disqus comments to my tumblr blog and love it so far. Live would be very cool. - mrsha
Oh, Rob's point reminds me of another. You need to improve support please. The Support Wiki strikes me as very badly organized and hence nearly useless, and the support forums have questions that sit there for days and days and days with zero response ... - Patrick Jordan
Uh, duh, cause it's more useful. Live web updates (like beta.ff) allows you to participate in real time if you're able. Gets a touch closer to actual human conversations from the average comment board. And live commenting on a blog or FF doesn't necessarily demand all attention like IRC or IM would tend to make you feel you have to stay participating. Remember, some people still have fun with the conversation and add value even though they don't realize it's live - they just read a stream, add a comm... - Shane Curcuru
... ment like it's just a plain old blog. (Hmm, FF comments have a limit, eh). Key features are still making it easy and seamless for all users to participate. Oh, and make sure you place nicely with other tools. - Shane Curcuru
@ Giannii - my support experience may not be typical then - but over the course of submitting four separate queries, I've never had timely or effective response. My first query sat on the forum for 7-8 days with no response until I searched out a Disqus Twitter account and (twice) tweeted asking whether Disqus provides any support. Another consistent thing on all my queries was that there would be no response for quite some time, followed by a request to try something I had already stated I'd tried in my - Patrick Jordan
more video options for comments - Wayne Sutton
Cont'd: original post. All four issues ended up being genuine problems / bugs / missing features as well - so they were not user error type stuff. Again, mine may not be the typical experience, but having had very poor response on four separate queries over a period of 2 -3 weeks does not strike me as just a single off day or bad luck kinda thing either ... - Patrick Jordan
I don't need live comments. - Steve Wilhelm
Live comments would be great! - Kol Tregaskes
The real question here is whether it would be smarter and easier to bring blogging here (and have FF entries replace blog entries) rather than bringing real time commenting to blogs. - Brian Sullivan
This is very interesting. If Disqus had live comments and seamless FF integration all packaged together ready to plug into your website/blog/whatever it would be clearly different to any other system. Juggling various sources of information and discussions on multiple platforms is time-consuming so if you offer a solution to that you will win. Show how ppl can feed everything into FF and from there in and out to their sites...or whatever way so that it can all be bundled and managed. Keep us informed! - WorldofHiglet
@ Giannii - thank you. I like Disqus a whole lot - its features are great, if support is improved it will really be the bomb ... - Patrick Jordan
Disqus, Friendfeed and Twitter shld merge, and make this integration a lot easier for all of us. - William Mougayar
I agree with William M. Social network feeders need to lead the new era of collaboration. If universities can do it and disciplines can do it, then sites need to get on board and either merge or work together more coherently to offer better integration for users - Bahiyyih

The first day on the Iranian calendar falls on the March equinox, the first day of spring. At the time of the equinox, the sun is observed to be directly over the equator, and the north and south poles of the Earth lie along the solar terminator; sunlight is evenly divided between the north and south hemispheres. read more about Nowruz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki... - Nimaa
