ffbookmarklet - How to host your own code on Dropbox
The newly working Friendfeed ffbookmarklet solution came from Stephen ( http://friendfeed.com/friendf... ) via an anonymous code fixer. The following extends the solution so you can host and control your own version of the code on Dropbox. - Micah
1. Click ffbookmark.js attached to this post to download. - Micah
2. Move ffbookmark.js to a dropbox folder. - Micah
3. Right-click ffbookmark.js, "Share Dropbox Link" (link is now in your copy/paste memory). - Micah
4. Paste the link a text editor (Notepad, TextEdit, etc). - Micah
5. Hit enter key a few times for the next copy/paste—now copy the code block in the next comment and paste in editor: - Micah
javascript:void((function()%7Bvar e%3Ddocument.createElement(%27script%27)%3Be.setAttribute(%27type%27,%27text/javascript%27)%3Be.setAttribute(%27src%27,%27https%3A%2F%2Fdl.dropbox.com%2Fs%2F_______________%2Fffbookmark.js%27)%3Bdocument.body.appendChild(e)%7D)()) - Micah
6. Your link will look something like: https:// www.dropbox.com/s/kwfb2abcoyq46kx/ffbookmark.js - Micah
7. Copy the sequence of 15 letters that come after the "dropbox.com/s/" part of the url. - Micah
8. Replace the 15 underscores in the code block with the 15 letter you just copied. - Micah
9. Copy the new code block. Right-click bookmark bar button, click Edit, paste into URL: field. Save. - Micah
The attached ffbookmark.js is a minified version of ffbookmark.src.js (using Google's http://closure-compiler.appspot.com/home tool). It's almost 40% smaller than the uncompressed code. Using this alternate method, you're not dependent on the google drive doc in the original solution—it changing or disappearing. Neither of which likely, but there you go. - Micah
Enjoy. - Micah

Thanks! if someone doesn't use dropbox (like me :D) but has github, you can create a gist, serve it through rawgit.com, urlencode the rawgit url (http://meyerweb.com/eric...), and substitute all the url, not only the underscores in the bookmarklet - scotu
this made me add a dropbox account to my long list of web accounts. - JECO Photo
Oops, there was a problem! > using bookmarklet with images. - JECO Photo

"Update: When I originally posted this, I forgot to transfer the photo of a bowl repaired through kintsukuroi to my server, resulting in the browser displaying a broken image icon. Rather than just fix it by uploading the photo, I used digital kintsukuroi to fill in the crack in the icon. Not sure the technique works as well as it does with pottery, but it seemed fitting. Here's the photo I meant to post" - Kottke - JECO Photo from Bookmarklet

"Vacation photos rarely turn out the way you want them to. Even if you’re a more advanced shooter, you might not have brought all your best gear with you on that family trip to the beach or the Grand Canyon and so, when you get home, you find your photos and your memory of what the scene looked like differ significantly. Fear not, Aaron Nace and Plearn are here to help with a very useful tutorial that will close that gap in a BIG way with a few easy adjustments in Photoshop." - JECO Photo from Bookmarklet

"Why did you choose Squarespace? I chose Squarespace for its simplicity. I wanted a platform that I could easily design on my own and that would result in a polished looking website. I fell in love with the bright and modern templates. Those are the two characteristics that I found were most important to me when making a website, especially one that heavily relies on photography to convey its message." - JECO Photo from Bookmarklet

"When you get to the upper loop, you may be asking, "how do I get to the top?" There was a ladder or sorts to the top years ago, but it has been removed. It is possible to climb the rocks on the east side, however, you'll need good scrambling skills to make it up. And remember, it's actually harder to climb down than it is to climb up." - JECO Photo from Bookmarklet

Best mirrorless for legacy lenses? - Photo.net Mirrorless Digital Cameras Forum - http://photo.net/digital...
"I concur with the Nex 5N. I use mine with CV, Nikon, Contax G and Canon FD lenses. With the optional EVF it is a pleasure to use and very quick to focus. The NEX-7 just has too many MPs for my tase. I don't want to worry about noise with high ISO shots." - JECO Photo from Bookmarklet

Best digital camera to use Canon FD lenses on - Photo.net Mirrorless Digital Cameras Forum - http://photo.net/digital...
"The basic issue is that to have the lens focus to infinity while using an adapter that has no optics, the host camera's flange distance has to be less than the original Canon FD cameras (to leave room for the adapter). The only current digital cameras with interchangeable lenses that satisfy that criterion are the Four-Thirds, Micro Four-Thirds, and Sony NEX models. I've seen FD lenses used successfully on an Olympus E-P2 (Micro Four-Thirds). I don't know what adapter was used, though. The only cross-brand adapters I've used were to mount Nikon F and Pentax M42 lenses on Canon EOS cameras, and I found that Fotodiox adapters worked well. Novoflex is also well-regarded, but more expensive. There are also cheaper models, often with no brand name, that you can purchase through eBay, which are of inconsistent quality but work nicely if you get a good one." - JECO Photo from Bookmarklet

Flickr: Discussing Anybody excited about the new full frame sony alpha 7 and 7R? in Canon FD - http://www.flickr.com/groups...
"Michael Relguag says: I kept my FD stuff all the time, when people told my get rid of it and throw it away. I use my FD bodies from occasionaly and the lenses at the moment with a NEX-5, which was the first real opertunaty to use them digital. Now the new Sony A7(R) gives you back the "normal" view of these lenses and the zooms get back in a reassonable range. I think I wait untill summer to save up money and see the early bird problems - but I think I will buy one!" - JECO Photo from Bookmarklet

Flickr: Discussing Canon FD lenses only on FD Bodies welcome? in Canon FD - http://www.flickr.com/groups...
"What I have wished for years that has finally just recently come to pass is to have a top notch digital system to which I can mount my FD glass. I have some superb FD lenses, and I would like to exploit them to their limits. This is very difficult to do with film. You're talking special process films or Fuji Velvia 50 in a pinch. But even film that can resolve images at 100lp/mm is good for "only" about 35MB of data storage on a 35mm slide or negative. But now, with the introduction of the Sony A7r, even this very high level has been surpassed." - JECO Photo from Bookmarklet

The Flappy Bird Craze Continues – Now Appearing As HTML5 Web Games | TechCrunch
"The proliferation of Flappy Bird clones following the abrupt departure of the game from iTunes has reached an all time high. The Apple App Store and Google Play – even the Pebble Appstore – are now filled with clones of the game. Phones with the original game still installed are apparently being listed on eBay for $99,999. There are now 81 Flappy clone developers (hello, “Flappy Penguin”, “Ironpants”, “Clumsy Bird”, “Flappy Bee” etc ) out there, and the list is growing." - JECO Photo from Bookmarklet

"At a technology-free drafting table he deftly renders the motion and subtle mathematical brilliance of nature with a pencil, ruler and protractor. Araujo creates complex fields of three dimensional space where butterflies take flight and the logarithmic spirals of shells swirl into existence. He calls the series of work Calculation, and many of his drawings seem to channel the look and feel of illustrations found in Da Vinci’s sketchbooks." - JECO Photo from Bookmarklet
