That's very cool. I've seen this technology working with Rubik's Cube as well.
- Nir Ben Yona
Wow, that's actually pretty impressive. I don't really play sudoku, but it's always nice to have a freshly solved one on the coffee table to give the impression of intelligence!
- Steve Farnworth
Thanks Peter! By the way, that was filmed next to the Pitt Building in Cambridge, UK. What's cool about that building? That's where the first academic publishing house was formed (Cambridge University Press). If I remember all the facts right, that is.
- Robert Scoble
This is cool. But I still prefer manually.. to test your brain
- Jeremy
very impressive, but - at the risk of sounding like a grumpy old man - where's the fun in having your iPhone solve the puzzle for you?
- Andrew Terry
Andrew: I hate Sudoku games, so for me it's more fun to use technology. Heheh.
- Robert Scoble
Oleg: oh, sorry about that. Gotta get sleep.
- Robert Scoble
This is brilliant. more than the fact that it can solve the game i think i love seeing how technology is being used
- Bhowmik Shah
Hang on a sec - I've just replayed the video.. once you've taken the picture, you are actually able to solve the puzzle yourself on the phone! That is super-cool!
- Andrew Terry
Robert: no worries, it was great to have you over here btw. looking forward to the PrismaStar and Broadersheet videos.
- Oleg Podsechin
Oleg: both of those videos should be up tomorrow.
- Robert Scoble
Cool but I have to agree with Jeremy, manually is better
- Cristian
Just installed the app (the video says "Sudoku Magic" but it's "Sudoku Grab" from the looks of it). Absolute best bit of this app is that it's a really good soduku app in its own right. The point-the-camera-to-solve is just an extra side benefit and a great way to source puzzles. No success yet using the camera on the 3G -- I have to manually update some of the numbers. Maybe the 3GS works better?
- RickMeasham
@RickMeasham that isn't the one Scoble saw, the Sudoku Grab is a different (less clever) one. The Sudoku Magic one is coming out ASAP.

Today... I was spammed by a spammer. He put me on a list that I never signed up for. Then when I clicked on the unsubscribe button... It auto-subscribed me to another list!!! Needless to say, I complained to the website program to which he auto-subscribed me... But I think that was clever...
Unfortunately a lot of spammers will send emails suggesting you signed up for something you didn't then offer an unsubscribe link. The minute you click it you confirm you are a real person that they can spam some more!
- Lisa
So I guess the lesson here is to ignore any email newsletters and messages that you didn't sign up for. I heard the spammers can even confirm whether or not the mail was opened using embedded images... they are a real plague
- Jorge Blanco
Just set up a gmail filter and you can sort out all newsletters easily
- TrafficBug
Yes, gmail has the best spam filters I've seen so far on web-mail.
- Robert Worstell
I agree and by learning the hard way by using one of my branded email addresses in the beginning. Gmail is the way to go for sites that you are not so sure you want to have a long relationship with them.
- Karen Purves
haven't started lost yet. It's DVD only on Netflix but I've got it in the Queue. Started watching the office last night. I saw some episodes a few years ago and liked them but wanted to start from the beginning before going back to it.
- Thomas Hawk
I use 30DC training to improve my other niche project
- Jeremy
So the sale offer thing is a glitch. If you pick a template that has no sales ad post here, I'll post the solution
- Chad
I'm using TDC for a new blog I developed for this year's challenge, and I always apply what I learn to all my blogs. Most of what I have online came out of the 2007 challenge, except the two sites I set up this summer.

I'm trying to install the latest version of Market Samurai after having uninstalled it. Is anybody else having the same porblem with v0.60? - http://www.flickr.com/photos...
download the new version. don't update it. MS has email to us. check your email
- Jeremy
from twhirl
It Just auto updated for me also, sorry!
- Mark Gray
I was having issues with MS BUT I removed it and reinstalled from scratch and now it all works perfectly. Their support will send you a new link to reinstall if you (Like me) deleted the first one.... oops.
- Stacy Nelson
I got the same message, but the next time I clicked to open Market Samurai, it opened without asking to install and showed "version.60." LOL, as fast as they're coming out with updates, I'd use whatever version opens and wait a few days and they'll have any problems sorted out.
- liz
OMG !!! Made my first dollar online! I succeed in the goal of the 30DC !!! Amazon Affiliate earnings of $1.84 yesterday !!! 7.45% conversion. 4 orders on 54 clicks.
Hi. Keep up the work and motor on, I'm a late starter too, it doesn't really matter if you're late and the content stays up year round anyway. Take your time and do everything that is taught by the master that is Ed and you will do very nicely out of this.
- Jamie Starbuck
Okay dumb question. How do you tell if you are ranked in google? Do you google search your keyword or your actual web site or blog? or is there one of those cool formulas like rank: www. yourwebsite.com? Just don't know. thanks for the help.
yes, you can type in your keyword phrase in google and change the number of results to 100 by selecting the "Advanced Search" link to the right side of the google search box and see if your domain is listed in the first 100.
- Will Ponder
Susan, if you meant check it's ranking then Will's comment is good. But before you do that check to see if Google has actually indexed your site, otherwise you could be looking for a long, long time. To check if you are indexed go to Google and type site:www.yourdomain.com and obviously substitute yourdomain for your actual url. Hope that helps. Wozza
- Ian
There's a firefox plugin from SEO book that works too. http://tools.seobook.com/firefox... is the link. Not had any problems with it in flock, but got to admit I haven't got up to using it much yet, just basic tests.
- Crystal Woods
Easy way to see if you have been indexed is to search for your sites url, ie. www.yoursite.com, if nothing comes up then you know just wait a little longer
- Deon
spent the last hour and half trying to register a domain name for my blog. wordpressdirect tells me they are all taken, yet when i go to yahoo domain name search, I many names available. What gives?
I'm getting the same - for whatever words I put in. I've just submitted a ticket to WDP. I wanted to run the 30DC method thru once without having to spend any £s - so I really hope this free option in WPD works!
- vizo
I am also not finding anything available through WP, but it is 2am...so I need a long break. Maybe something will work in the morning. Michelle
- Michelle Hesse
perhaps you can go to godaddy.com go look for alternative domains
- Jeremy
from twhirl
John, when you select a domain at WordpressDirect you are selecting a subdomain. When you go to Yahoo domain name search you are searching for an actual domain...
- Mike Hill
from twhirl
According to Ed on the show, it's all easy cruisin' from now on. I hope so. As an SEO newbie, Market Samurai was hard to figure. Of course, now that I've got it, it's pretty easy. So, tomorrow, we're supposed to find out how to start making $$$. Can't wait!
same here... finding it quite hard to find something good

be patient. 95% of time will spend on market research, this is just the beginning
- Jeremy
yeah i know, but it just seems like everyone has gone off and done their homework, but im struggling:P lol
- adam jeremiah
from twhirl
It was easier for me because I've been blogging all year, and I know the search terms that brought some readers to my blog (from using FeedBurner. Now, for Kayla and Alex, we just took their current interests in Pokemon and Star Wars and found the synonymous keyword that works for a microniche. We didn't put too much energy into that. Already, they're complaining that they don't want to be locked into those limited topics. That's OK for them since this is a learning process.
- Sandra Foyt
that's cool! I am looking forward to building content.. :)
- Jeremy
your samurai is tired, let him rest for a while.. should be fine
- Jeremy
The work around solution http://twurl.nl/oxdg7h if problem persists. Watch "Overview of Market Samurai v0.53's New Features"
- Buff Toast
I have problem fetching the data too but not all the time. Sometimes it works just fine.
- Raymond
Try closing MS and open it again, its gonna create a new "session" with google, ( new captcha...). If its not working, just wait a few minutes.
