I'm thinking of reasons why I should keep my Xbox. Not happy with my recent RROD, not happy with paying MS 30£ each year just to play on their network, and not happy with the fact that it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

My question is, how does the size of the new PS3-Slim compare to Xbox 360? Ditto on the vacuum-cleaner issue btw, which is one of the things that keep me from using it for any media (audio/video streaming, etc.)

Exactly. I can't use the Xbox for it's media capabilities purely because of the noise issue. Most of the games that I play come out on both platforms anyway....

G. Sigh: Since the PS3 and 360 almost the same size, im sure the PS3 Slim in a lot thinner , but it might be taller

i dont really know if i would want a "slimmer" PS3 for air movement reasons... but i would recommend the ps3 slim to someone who wants a media centre device

Jason: Sony's magical ice fairies, dude. Duh. Seriously, though, I think it's probably out the back. That "34% less electricity used" stat that this new one sports also indicates that the components probably generate significantly less heat, so I assume the ventilation needs aren't as high as PS3fat.
