maxxsmart posted a photo: Point Lobos - Monterey County, California I have been all over the map these past few days. Watched an amazing sunrise over San Francisco on Sunday morning. Took a day off from work on tuesday and got my a#@ handed to me out in Point Reyes. Worked a half day on Wednesday and headed south to Point Lobos (for the first time), and now have a couple more outings planed over the next few days. I love it when the weather gets good! So all morning on Wednesday I watched some weather websites to see where this next storm would be hitting first. The photos showed clear skies over the Monterey / Point Lobos area, but I decided to head down anyway. I figured it would at the very least be a good time to scout around for future trips to the area. I must say this..... This place is like a drug for a person that likes to photograph the ocean. Rocky cliffs on one side, and amazing, colorful sandstone rocks on the other. My only problem on this afternoon was trying to control...

MikeJonesPhoto posted a photo: Here's one from back in June as I made a slow trip up the California coast. That was my absolute favorite part of my six months on the road. I LOVED Big Sur, San Francisco, Redwoods National Park. The California coast is just spectacular! This was a very long time exposure, shot in almost complete darkness. This was about a seven minute time exposure. I've been wanting to work on this one for months. It took quite a bit of work evening out the lighting in photoshop. It was just a single exposure, but I opened the same exposure several times in camera raw trying to pull out more highlight and shadow detail and more contrast in the sky. View Large, On Black

Aubrey Stoll posted a photo: Photograph of the Millennium Eye/Wheel seen from the North side of the Thames river. It was raining when I took this shot so I wasn't fortunate to get the classic, deep blue tone that comes from a clear sky. The cloud patterns are visible here through the blue. The main, big, building is County Hall, and the smaller building to the right is St Thomas's Hospital.
