McCain's presence in the Senate will be disruptive at best, while underscoring his lack of understanding of the actual issues of this proposal, furthermore there are no breakdowns in the process, the bill is working in the respective committees and there are concessions on the part of the Administration towards the changes whihc Congress wants made. I think it could also really backfire on McCain. It just makes him look like he's backing out of the debate at the last minute, and he's not willing to include the American people in an authentic discussion on how to solve the economic crisis. Comments about Obama "not understanding what the big deal is..." and supposedly being the "weaker opponent" sound completely ridiculous, since Obama has been addressing the real issues all along. I guess we're living in parallel universes. I think the U.S. has never resolved the Civil War or the divisions in Christian sects that led to the founding of this country in the first place.
