Long time away, still dealing with hub's health stuff, tomorrow is last look with third scope and third biopsy. If tumor did not get smaller he will need open biopsy. Miss you all and will check in from time to time. Most times on Facebook w/family either jlt-rdms or janet kiefer-tomko.
We miss you, Janet!!! Please know you and your hubby are in our thoughts. <3
- Derrick
I miss you so much! I hope you guys hear some good news.
- Anika
Thank you for the update Janet, and yes, we really do miss you! I hope you have some better news soon and all the best to you and hubby.

Imagine my wife's surprise/shock when, due to a database error, her's arrived 30 years early! I sadly had to tell her that, alas, she cannot retire just yet.

I was only ever bothered by turning 35 and well, this one is choking me with fear and I have no clue why, the little old person membership didn't help matters. LOL @Curtis, same thing happened when I was 24.
- Janet
i can totally relate. i'm sure i'll feel similarly when/if the day comes.
- edythe
My husband is thankfully an anomaly :o)

A work vent and healthcare related. Why dear doctor are you ordering a portable carotid ultrasound on no-code patient with end stage lung cancer with symptoms of shortness of breath and dizziness? I wish you would enlighten me to the reasoning for this, fear of lawsuit or menu medicine? Will you find a surgeon who will operate on a high grade...
The AMA has weighed in on the new health care plan. The Allergists voted to scratch it. The Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves. The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it,
- Janet
but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve. The Obstetricians felt they were all laboring under a misconception. Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted. Pathologists yelled "Over my dead body!
- Janet
while the Pediatricians said, 'Oh, Grow up!' The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it.
- Janet
Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing The Internists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the Plastic Surgeons said, "This puts a whole new face on the matter." The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward
- Janet
but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea. The Anesthesiologists thought the idea was a gas, and the Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.
- Janet
In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the assholes in Washington.

Well, it was bought by Facebook for $55 million dollars. People here, including me, aren't happy about it. The FF people have been elusive about what will happen, although they've been trying to reassure us that they are looking out for the users.
- Derrick
Thanks for the update, I am ****shocked**** as well as sad, I like FB for what it is but it will never be live action FF.
- Janet
Husband found a turkey feather on his walk in the woods. Kitten loves the free feather w-a-a-a-y more than the $3.00 cat nip toy I purchased for him yesterday. Wish I had a video cam right now.
A deep statement made by a drug rehab physician. The poor people and the mega rich have one thing in common ---- poor health care. The rich can buy off the not so competent physician. Profound statement
The man, believed to be in his 30s, died in Southwark, southeast London, on Friday. His body was found by police slumped in the car. Police are treating the driver's death as suicide and are trying to trace his next of kin. Officers were called at 12.40am to the horrific scene in Great Suffolk Street, where the car had crashed into a pillar. A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said:...

They don't die, they just get really pissed at you :)

I gave up Mafia Wars a couple of months ago on fb. Now I jost pop those bubbles. What's the pets thing? Ok, I guess I can just go there and search...
- Adrian
I hit level 200 today. My addiction to Mafia Wars is starting to fade, but I still do a bunch everyday.

This is a sad statement of my life right now. I play with the cyber cat and fuss over my cyber home in yoville why my real life goes to crap? Between YoVille I am off picking fights with gangsters and somehow this makes me feel better? Jeebus I need to rethink some things. :)
- Janet
Is there a cyber strawbery jam-making app on there? :)
- Adrian
LOL@Adrian! Then I would never get off YoVille. One thing I found, the toilet app is hysterical.
- Janet
Holy crap! I need to spend more time on... FB. Hmmm... that didn't quite come out right. :)
- Adrian
Happy July 4th belated. This is what I was doing 46 years ago.
And there you have it apparently. 4th of July and 17th of May are the most important;)

Well we have national saint's days- 23rd April for St George- but we don't do much on them; no real link to an event I guess. Some folk (usually those who want to make much more of St George's Day) want a Trafalgar Day.
- Pete
September 15 is Guatemalan (and some other Central American countries) Independence Day (from Spain). My husband is Guatemalan so we always celebrate.

This is very scarey. CMS proposes disastrous new cuts to Medicare patients.

:( Is it a stretch to believe that other insurers would follow?
- Ladybug Heather
Most private insurance follows Medicare guidelines. Hospital can only give cash discount to level of Medicare/Medicaid payment. We had to work out a cash payment plan for our Amish community, the legal team went nuts when we attempted to offer lower cost.
- Janet
Does anyone wear colored contacts? If you do - any particular brand that works well? Thinking about getting green or the enchanted style for something different. Have appointment in 2 weeks, would like to know first hand options/critisms.
A good day, hospital blocking software broken (yeah) so full FF. Call from boss, she is blocking my schedule over lunch so I can travel to hospital for work evaluation. Only 2% raise this year but I am at max for paygrade. This means the 2% will be calculated and converted to paid vacation time. Yes! Still did not use the 57 hours from last year...
No Bryce, this is above and beyond my 4 weeks a year. Would much rather have paid time off versus the 2% money.
- Janet
That's good that you received some kind of raise. We were told that because of the "bad economy" we would not be getting anything this year. So if the economy gets better next year I should receive double right? :) Not holding breathe for that one.

Thank you Haley crew!! I will be so crucified wearing a Cowboy's lanyard in Eagle land but I am soooooo looking forward to doing just that! I love driving one particular person crazy with this football madness :) Love the brown sugar scrub, handmade bookmark, postcards and note from the kids. You guys are the best!!!!!
Oh, btw, the bookmark is really a label for the friendship bracelet that Sarah made you. It's navy and white, the colors you said you liked. :) You tie it around your wrist and then keep wearing it until it falls off. OR you could use it as a bookmark. :)
- Trish Haley
Oops! Bracelet will be tied on tonight! Tell your daughter I am just a bit old and out of the loop of cool things ;)
- Janet
Yes, I win the idiot award for today! Arrive at work for 7-12 shift to find out it is 7 this evening to midnight. I am living under a black cloud for certain. Ugh!
Okay, first picture has to be the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Reims, found a short note my grandfather jotted down of month/year/place of where my father was stationed. Did some searches for Reims and can identify the cathedral now off to figure out second picture.
- Janet
Yes, the first picture is Reims cathedral indeed. I went there two years ago and took pictures of the cathedral that exactly match yours. The second picture is very likely to be Nîmes arena (Les arènes de Nîmes) : http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki...
- Brome
Wasn't the second place used in the movie Ronin?
- Andrew Leyden
The second is the amphitheater in Nimes, but the actual pictures do not show the three arches over the gate. They added a third set of seating rows, which covers the arches: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...
- mr-mojo-risin
Thanks mr.-mojo. I was confused with the arch area and not seeing in newer pictures. Wow! I did find a few more of bullet peppered buildings, I assume the buildings are still standing. Will have to post those soon.
