copy of MW2 finally in hand almost two weeks late, but no tickets for FWD>> + Rinse @ Matter tonight. The good lord giveth...
@om nope, just the same sound bites we were hearing two years ago.E
@00__00 the Word 2010 navigation pane is pretty cool (view > show > nav pane)
Have the ChromeOS bits from @gdgt up and running on VMware. Alas, no time to play with it as work calls.
@LSi01 if Zune Marketplace stacked up the content & had a subscription pass then Sky Movies would be dropped from my package in a heartbeat
@Gilly2468 & picture 2-3 years down the line.£99 netpads/sub netbooks with ChromeOS on. I think it has potential. Lots of ?s raised though!
@Gilly2468 I think context is needed - it def isn't all purpose computing. But GOOG picking up just a few % pts share represents disruption
@LSi01 I'll check my router stats when streaming to see the bit rate and estimate resolution. Worked perfect for me. lack of content tho
you know, the Chrome OS seems like the perfect fit for the CrunchPad. but for a full blown computer? Just seems rather limiting...
@Gilly2468 that said you certainly wont be using this as your "main" computer. especially if youre a student. but as a companion device...
@Gilly2468 outside of say, Office, what do you use that doesnt require the net? A computer without the net is pretty much worthless to me.
@Gilly2468 if you look at 95% of home computing usage, its for things like IM, online video/music, FB - network access isnt a problem IMO
@LSi01 /shook
youtube.com/shows - whoa...has YouTube just become the UK's Hulu? Thats a lot of content.
I like the Engadget redesign but the serif font is very hard on the eyes.
@manan "we are working on it". I find the honesty refreshing. Not hiding on the issue.
Seesmic for Windows is only the second desktop Twitter client after Tweetie that isn't horrible.
@LSi01 too big. I don't think a full keyboard is needed. the chat pad is perfect for short msgs. I just need to source one on the cheap, lol
A 2+ years phase in period for Maemo seems awfully long though @ianfogg42 PPC > x86 was about 6 months for Apple. Nokia should follow suit
#lazyweb so is Seesmic for Windows a full WPF app or Silverlight?
@LSi01 dont really want a keyboard wire across my living room. fine with the chatpad - just that its becoming a necessity.
@ssethi salmon could be a while. especially how authentication works. & usefulness depends on adoption from the aggregators, not the source
urgh, I have the same new UI as @scobleizer - it's all kinds of wrong.
During the ad break: iPhone showing Sky & Ocado apps.Pre showing multitasking & calendar. Just saying. #marketingfail #whengeeksdomarketing
first tweet from my 360. diggin the ui (better than fb). chatpad needed though!
@Scobleizer screenshot?
@sebpayne Great choice! I recommend using Fluid.app to create a Dock icon and separate browser instance for the Simplenote site.
RT @blaine: Ironic that that the Twitter updates board behind Tim can only be offered by Twitter. #w2e
with the acquisition of iMeem (following iLike) seems MySpace is moving back to its roots (music). smart as they cant beat FB at being a SNS
