hao; firefox's paint delay is 100ms in FF3 and 250ms in FF2; if you set your initial setTimeout to 251ms it won't block the page loading in FF2 - Michael J Cohen
Thanks for the tip, Michael! I'll put that in there. - Hao Chen
I like you even more now that I know you're a 49ers fan! - Jesse Stay
@Jesse, the blog post shows I'm a lapsed 49ers fan. I'm more a Cal Bears fan than anything else when it comes to football. I just thought this getup was more appropriate for the "staged' photos. - Louis Gray
hmmm..Bears fan, but 49ers fan as well, but then again you're an A's fan - things are edging against you now. You had me going there. ;) - Jesse Stay via twhirl
I think everyone could take a lifetime vacation from immediately conflating someone attacking an argument with someone attacking a person. It would make everyone less stressed out and allow for people to discuss things outside of iphone, friendfeed, and what Jason Calacanis is doing this week. - Mark Trapp
I'm just coding Mark. Keeping my head in the code... +1 spot on comment. - Brian Daniel Eisenberg
I am opting out of the political stuff too. - Lindsay Donaghe
Yeps all around. I am avoiding all online political debate. I just wish I had the same willpower when it came to religious discussion. - Akiva Moskovitz
...but I get my daily recommended dose of snark on Wonkette?! - Jason Carreira
Anyone interested in my witty and insightful comments on the current political scene will be sorely unimpressed b/c I'm hiding just about all of that stuff. - Pete Delucchi
I like politics: they're important and can be discussed with wit and civility (I fail this now and then). But I'm in overload mode. Time to clear the palate. ;-) - Chris Baskind
Yes, please. Let's talk about other stuff. I'm overloaded and I barely participated. - Rahsheen(isSoAwesome)
lol. this calls for some cake or ice cream or something with lots of calories! - Cee Bee
Here, getting into cab always results in the same conversation. Cabbie: Where to? Passenger: [So-and-so location] Cabbie: Ah... uh... so, how would you get there? - Akiva Moskovitz
If that's how one gets a free ride, then I'm all for getting kicked outta cab. Only, I'll piss him off just before reaching my destination. - Kevin Singarayar
You should have so taken him up on the offer and drove the cab as that would have been wicked! - Joe Dawson
Mayb e he was waiting for he phrase Your driving like you were two fisted? :) - Fred Grott
about time, nothing against those I follow, nothing against those that follow me, but reducing the noise to signal ratio if important, this will help. - dan
Haven't tried this yet. but what I'd like is a watch window/pane where i tag a comment thread to watch. That way its easier to keep in touch with the dsicussion. - Roberto Bonini

The FriendFeed Feedback room is full of some great ideas for the FriendFeed team to implement going forward. Why not check out the suggestions and "Like" all those you agree on. In theory, the FriendFeed team could take your guidance on the most popular suggestions... - Louis Gray
“I'm certain its been posted countless times, but I would like to throw my hat into the ring for the ability to 'like' specific comments instead of the actual post.” - Mathew Ballard
“one click friendfeed signup from the widget on homepage - so visitors can leave comments without having to come to friendfeed & then go back again to the site where the widget was originally embedded. - Mathew Ballard
stinks that's it so unreliable. Mine is too. But I love the big screen. - Andrew Warner
My WinMo phone may have memory management issues and requires a reboot every now and again but I have never had a need to hard reset it... in fact none of the ones I have had, have needed that. - Ian D. Nock via twhirl
Weird. Mine has not experienced something that needs a hard reset. *knock on wood* - Rom Feria
its all about Nog Chompa. you really need to try it Mona :-) - Colby Olson
who on here is meanbot? -- i just got this "@partridge: You are a dumb computer program like the original incense." - http://twitter.com/meanbot/sta... - Brandon
I think it actually is a computer program, as it says... heh... perl driven. Dunno who's behind it, though. - Michael W. May (Joffi) via twhirl
meanbot looks like an automated insult bot. - ·[•_•]·
@mwm yeah once i saw the update frequency i was convinced that it must be a robot... or just a troll that follows wherever nicerobot posts. - Brandon
Mean Robot must be Nice Robot's evil twin. - Yolanda
You don't have your rejaw stuff on here, Mona? Are you feeling better? - Yolanda
This whole conversation has just thrown me so I am going into the garden to smell the flowers! - Joe Dawson
LOL Hi Joe hahahhah Yolanda: thank you so much for last ngiht... I'm feeling better.. still a tad broken, though ;) - Mona N.
(1) Use Scout to find the best work of any Flickr photographer. Enter your Flickr ID, and it returns all photos in Flickr's public Explore/interestingness stream. This stream contains the top 500 photos each day according to a "magic donkey" from the Flickr team. Enter your photostream at http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/..., then try your contacts. - Mitchell Tsai
(2) View by archive. Most under-utilized view on Flickr. Want to tear through someone's 2,000 photo stream in about 10 minutes? Only way, best way, is with archive view. - Mitchell Tsai
(3) Search any tag search term and then rank by interestingness. Most people don't realize when you search by tags what Flickr fetches by default are the *most recent* photos tagged with your search term. Want to find super interesting photos? Rather than rely on the default most recent photos results, click on the "most interesting" link to the immediate right of the "most recent" link on the page and you will truly see some amazing work. - Mitchell Tsai
(4) Groups: My favorite is DM Gallery http://www.flickr.com/groups/d..., a group whereby Flickr Members from Deleteme Uncensored vote on photos for inclusion. The number of photos in the pool must remain at a static 200. - Mitchell Tsai
(7) Photos from your contacts and friends and family. I pretty much make anyone who makes me a contact back. I usually keep my settings for my friends/family at 5 and for my regular contacts (I've got a lot, over 2,000 now) at 1 photo each. - Mitchell Tsai
(9) Flickr Toys http://bighugelabs.com/flickr John Watson has developed the finest collection of Flickr Toys to date. In addition to the previously mentioned Scout toy, Flagrant Disregard has a wide variety of other Flickr toys that you can use to see Flickr photos in fun and new ways. You can turn your photos into a mosaic, you can make a billboard out of your photos, a magazine cover, a captioner and many, many more. If you find yourself enjoying Flickr, definitely check John's site out. - Mitchell Tsai
(10) And finally (whew) a little self plug for my own collection of favorites. I mentioned earlier in this article that I've personally collected over 14,000 favorites. One of the biggest reasons that I've collected so many is that I'm hoping in the future that Flickr (or a partner) turns out a full screen slide show version of Flickr for view in my living room. Although favorite diving is fun, if you want to see what I truly see as the best photography on Flickr today check out this stream of over 14,000 photos http://flickr.com/photos/51035.... - Mitchell Tsai
Kol: Thanks for the awesome photography sites. I'll try to check them after dance camp. P.S. Kol's Vi.sualize.us feed is http://vi.sualize.us/koltregas... I have it in my Google Reader. Kol bookmarks great pictures... - Mitchell Tsai
@Mictchell Tsai: Thanks for the plug, not not so many on Vi.sualize this week but that'll all change today while I catch up with things ;-) I'm also sharing many on Google Reader too (mainly photography posts but anything cool and useful I find will now pop up on my feed. URl to follow when I'm on FF site (as I cannot copy+paste in Twhirl!!) - Kol Tregaskes via twhirl
My Google Reader link is anyone is interested is http://www.google.com/reader/s... - I've added a GM script that allows me to post to Delicious too but it doesn't seem to be working :-( - Kol Tregaskes
These are some Awesome night time areal photos taken my London Photographer Jason Hawkes! Shot from a helicopter using a gyroscopicly stabilized camera mount. - Jeff P. Henderson via Bookmarklet
Great images, looks so much better from above than when I am rushing through the streets at the start and finish of every day! - Joe Dawson
As a fellow Londoner its great to see a different perspective on my favourite haunts. Absolutely stunning photography, if only we all had access to light aircraft and D3s - Phill Price
Trying to divine what Apple's up to from patent applications is never easy, but every now and again the diagrams actually make it obvious -- and it looks like Steve and his elves are hard at work on large-format touch interfaces, possibly for a tablet Mac of some kind. - Joe Dawson
“Population of Alaska = 683,478. Population of Santa Clara county = 1,837,075. Number of people employed by Walmart = 2,100,000. Things I learned on Wikipedia today.”
Random I was just checking out clips on YouTube of moose attacking cars hahaha!! - Joe Dawson
Moose burgers are really good. So is caribou stew and reindeer sausage. *mouth waters* - JMS
It may look funny, but moose can be really mean. And they are really big. People get hurt in AK every year by moose stomping. Don't get between a mama moose and her calf. - JMS
I use Last.fm religiously and it has completely changed the way that I listen to music online. I rarely stream radio stations now as I prefer to discover music through Last.fm and at least I don't have to listen to a radio presenter struggling to be interesting. I am disappointed that Pandora doesn't work here in the UK as I would like to try it out especially as a lot of my friends online speak highly of the service! - Joe Dawson via FriendFeed MT Plugin
Imeem is killing it vs. Last.fm - it is a great service, has deals with all the labels, and is much bigger according to Complete.
Playlist.com is also interesting because of its tremendous growth, although i am not sure what category it falls under.
