I have wanted to have this kind of thing for long time since it's hard to track what people comment.

It's surprising that this hasn't been implemented even though hundreds of people have suggested it. Makes me think that FF isn't comfortable sharing the data.

It's gotta be a simple factor of how the feed is being processed. Seems like other media is picked up just fine...except for 12seconds (not blaming 12seconds, just saying it soudns like a more basic issue that could help future services as well)

Friendfeed should incorporate themes for personalized FF page (so that it looks somewhat professional..) I am thinking to put my FF personalized page URL in professional signature!

Erica, not everyone's an uber-geek :). Non-geeky friendfeed fans should, IMHO, be able to set up myfeed.thedomain.com, or even namefeed.com or whatever to display their friendfeed stream.

More details are in the Changelog blog (http://changelog.friendfeed.com/2008...). It is basically a new indexing scheme, and a bunch of tuning of the code to query that index to construct the feed pages.

I don't notice much difference; FF is always super responsive, so I'm guessing my experience is dominated by my browser and the network.

I don't notice a difference either; it's always been very responsive for me. Except for the recommended friends page, that one takes a few seconds

Never noticed how slow it was, but always glad to have my internet stuff much faster. Makes me wish I had complained about it beforehand so I could take credit for "getting those darn friendfeed people to get off their butts and fix this darn thing!" (plus a few unnecessary expletives of course).

I just check in my code one character at a time so it looks like I am working harder. Combine that with a bot that checks them in at all hours of the day, and I look like the most productive person in the world. Maybe I can get a job at Mahalo now ;)

Nice! Faster is always better. What you're using to measure that 50ms number? Is that the total rendering time (like what you're seeing in Firebug), or is that the time it takes to pull down a page over the net?

50ms is server time. The network transfer time can be quite a bit longer, esp. for people far away.
