I LOVE to see a pundit miss the mark so widely. This is an article from 1997 (pre-OS X, pre-iPod, pre-iPhone) from a guy who obviously feels spurned because the software he backed didn't get purchased when NeXT did.
- Jody
Did he miss the mark? I mean, he said Apple would die, because Steve Jobs _wasn't_ going to run the company. That didn't happen. He ended up running the company, which was necessary for success.
- Joel
He was wrong about the OS, for sure though. And it is hard to miss the big disclaimer.

This is great. I particularly (much to my wife's chagrin) like point #3. 5. These Aren't Vampires. Or Werewolves, For That Matter 4. You Don't Subscribe To Tiger Beat 3. Bella Is A Spoiled Brat 2. Edward is Annoying 1. You Saw Twilight

PO Boxes have proven unverifiable and are called out as such. We're working on providing the right solution for businesses that need to hide a home address, however.

This is my first blog ever, saved before Geocities could balete it forever (from back when you could use blogger to post to geocities). I didn't change anything so prepare for some grammatical and spelling errors. The ramblings of a 21-22 year old are ahead.

“'It creates a business out of distributing movies made by other talented people, without committing our own capital,' said Mr Iger." It will be interesting to see how big movie production companies produce movies for the long tail.

More interesting to me is that this seems to contradict the early adopter we all expect Robert to be. What happens when he just gets too tired to use the second SIM to try out the new flashy device and operating system?
- Joel
Just took me to the home page as well... if this requires you to friend Scoble to read it, then it's not really an effective way of sharing. If not and it's just broken then... well, also not so effective.

Sorry. My Facebook stuff should be open to the public. EIther way, it was autoposted to my friends from http://scobleizer.com -- I will remove Facebook from FriendFeed anyway to reduce the noise.

SuezanneC - What's one more reason to have a PC?

Using it for the last hour - really enjoy the ultrasmooth scrolling. www.flickriver.com scrolls like butter. BUT when trying to post this comment, it failed. Converted back to FF to post this.
- Mark Interrante
Thanks for this Robert. Been waiting a while. Running it now.

Working on revamping the help pages to call out the feed verification option. Beyond adding the caveat in our help, anyone have other suggestions?

I haven't seen these ads (yet), but are they only displayed when replying, before your sent message? Or are they interspersed at random places while reading a conversation? Because they would be really annoying if the latter.
- Tudor Bosman
Seems fine to me. I always thought newly sent messages were a good thing to target (because it's what you're thinking about right now), though I don't know if that was proven experimentally or not.
- Paul Buchheit
Yeah, targeting newly sent messages seems like a good idea. Placing ads at random places during the thread (which the article seems to imply, but it's not corroborated by their screenshot) would be more annoying and distracting.
- Tudor Bosman
I haven't seen them yet, but word in the hallway is they're an experiment and are displayed only after a message is sent.
