"My uneducated, unsolicited graduation advice: such great passion and gifting is wasted behind a pulpit. Follow Jesus out to where he is working in the world and shake the dust off your sandals anywhere you are rejected, for his sake or any other reason people may suggest."

"It's actually atheists/humanists who promote the false dichotomy of "science vs. faith." Science is a method of investigation. Atheists and humanists have elevated science to the level of religion and elevated scientists to the level of high priests, a la the medieval ages. Normal people are no longer qualified to identify what is true and false. We can't trust the input of our own five senses nor the interpretation of that input by our brains. We commission scientists to tell us what is true and what is false through data. Small sample size is the new cardinal sin. If we don't like what they tell us, we can always fund another research project to get a different result."

"Good thoughts, David. Matters of faith sound increasingly foolish to the secular ear. Dilemma #4 doesn't really keep me up much at night. Listen to Jesus, obey his direction. I may alienate some people, but it's short-sighted to assume that I'm their only chance at avoiding hell. Sometimes my walk with Jesus is clumsy. If someone is put off by the idea that following Jesus is full of failure and grace, then they might not be ready to follow Jesus. Hopefully, my attitude and demeanor reflect the humble truth that I'm doing my best and Jesus is taking care of the rest."
