"Sam .. It's at http://ma.gnolia.com/groups/Po... .. I've got it set as Moderated so we don't get it stuffed up with trashy stuff from everywhere. Let's get folks to join the Group and then add what they are listening to." - Joe Magennis
"Sam -- thanks for the comments. My musical choices are always made to keep up with the high bar that you've established....
I do try to match the topic of the episode to the selection because it will set a tone for whats to follow. It might be a lyric or genre or something that helps (in a subtle way) the topic along. Intros & Outros are probably something that a lot of podcasters might take for granted. In my mind, they really finish off the product being produced.
Thanks for all of your insights.
BTW, I agree I'm always looking for new podcasts to listen to and would love a nice shared list of suggestions ... So I started a moderated Magnolia Group under my name called Podcasts. If you want to start putting it out there we can get a good Group list going and stay on top of the amazing stuff being created. What do you think? I think it's worth compiling a good list." - Joe Magennis
"Dan .. very interesting at the college level. I believe that it will continue to push down into earlier ages as things progress. I have two young daughters and I can only imagine how they will be communicating online.
As my first was born many people would joke about the cost of a college education when she was older, and I would always reply that I was more concerned that she develop a marketable trade more so than a degree. They sort of thought I was joking. I’m not.
Applying what you are pointing to .. they will be better served by establishing who they are, what they represent, and what they can contribute rather than some sheepskin.
The only way they will be able to achieve that is to implement the practices of a personal “brand”." - Joe Magennis
"At the end of 2007 we made a radical change to our agency as we moved from a boutique full service marketing agency with up to 15 employees supporting Design, PR, and web strategies .. to a two person shop with the primary role of managing outsourced services.
The relief in terms of overhead has obviously been a tremendous unburdening, but I also believe that we are able to offer better services overall.
By developing a network of specialists we can craft a client’s plans and utilize outsourced help for execution at considerably lower cost & less of a ramp up time. We even have a resource for development work conducted in Asia.
I am a firm believer that the future will be full of “free agents” all offering services and specialties in a support role, while clients will rely on consultants to manage the diverse teams. The consultant will be held accountable for delivering on quality and budget." - Joe Magennis
