Jim .. I'm the exact opposite and I talk about it all the time. I'm much better at working on projects than I am selling. It's a crappy position for an entrepreneur to be in, because you have to be selling all the time. So it's forced for me and projects can always be worked on ...

Thinking about yesterday & at first thought I might not be spending whole lot of time on Twitter. Realized that's no solution. Still want to have conversations there, talking baseball, business, whatever.. I will just try to block noise. As always key is to find & participate in conversation. Solution is to search & use all platforms to the fullest

Yeah, agreed. You can't really just block out Twitter. I'm trying to use FriendFeed as a Twitter client as much as anything else since I've subscribed to folks streams that I really want to hear from. We'll see how that works.

yeah, there are definitely some things that get missed. you can always run Winer's script and get the RSS feeds of folks you really want to see everything from in Google Reader. I've been pruning that down myself just to have a failsafe.

Arleen, 10,000 keyword phrases times 20 is a tiny fraction of the search terms that are worth optimizing for. Think of the long tail. Also, consider lots of webmasters and even publishers / site owners / bloggers / Web developers ... SEO experts who are able to optimize their stuff quite successfully but don't sell or publish their expertise. Many of them, and even many SEO consultants, do make sensible use of social media, as plain users.

Gord, in a social media spammer's book 2 hours of outage, IOW 2 hours w/o sales from sneakily distributed links to questionable sales pitches, can sum up to way more than a good day's beer money. ;) However, "crisis" might be a term too strong for this potential loss.

Sam .. I commented about this on another FF post, but I'll say it here too. I will be very disappointed if native apps from Google for GV service also get banned!
