"I think certs are great so you know the individual has basic knowledge sometimes of a very complex subject, but I agree hands on experience and especially when the shit hits the fan experience always prevails because you cannot teach that. But knowing what to at least look for is very helpful and I feel certs at least give you that. If your looking for someone to come in and gain experience and you have sr. level administrators on staff I think a certified person is great, you cannot have a full staff of sr. admins right?
