Thomas, this cartoon is great, but it is PG-13. A few swears is all, but just so you know. My kids loved it, they were 10 and 8 at the time. I also had read it to them month before. Those pictures are the style of the cartoon and they have great voice talents involved. Lucy Lawless as Wonder Woman, Brooke Shields as Carol Feris, David Boreanaz as Hal Jordan, Neil Patrick Harris as Barry Allen, Kyle MacLachlan as Superman and Jeremy Sisto as Batman - RAPatton

I agree it is not the same as the graphic novel; I would have loved to have had the Losers and the Challengers in it, but at the same time I thought it hammered in that Superman's greatest ability is his ability to inspire better then graphic novel. I have both, and as animated DVDs go I liked this one a great deal - RAPatton
