The Burning of Library.nu - In February 2012, one of the largest ebook libraries on Earth was taken offline....
This is the first time I've heard of this. This sounds a little like the JSTOR case with Aaron, but they didn't go near as far. - Joe
There are still a good number of torrents that have academic ebook content, but maybe not all in one place. - Joe

RT @martin_eve: Among the things I don't love: ezproxy urls in article/book bibliographies. Couldn't publishers strip these out as a value-adding activity?
RT @abugseye: aud member: GScholar iso ubiquitous, has fully "seduced" researchers…so why do libs spending precious time tweaking disc layers? #cni14f

A good commentary given the situation...but hard as I try to think of self-archiving with a six-month embargo as somehow being supportive of OA, I can't. (Same goes for NPG's OA fees, but that's another issue.) I guess it's better than a year... - Walt Crawford
On the whole, I'm calling this a win for OA. Nature basically got a loud collective NOPE on this one, which would not have happened in my day. - RepoRat
I agree with RR about that. - Walt Crawford
