Take the time to plan a dread party. Having 4 people knock out your dreads in a couple hours is so much better than marathon sessions.
When taking dread pics: Top of head to waist is ideal. Focus & fast shutter is important to see the hair well. Shoot outside!
Try to take regular pics of your dreads as they progress - it's fun to look back and a g8 tool if you need help w/ them.
For some reason all moms are inherently great backcombers. It's just how moms roll. Here's to backcombing moms everywhere!

Locked dread samples washed in shampoo w/ residue actually increase in weight w/ ea washing. Kinda gross if you think about it.
Did you know that people w/ dreads don't shed? All the hair remains in the dread - not in the shower drain, not in the roomba.
Dreads drying too slow? 1)Squeezem in the shower well 2 )Sqeezem in a towel well 3)Blow dryer 4)Air dry - Works every time...
There's no right or wrong reason to dread. If it's "your" reason, & it's important enough to stick w/ it, it's a good reason.
In general knots to not form "mid-dread' without help. If you have straight hair mid dread you can clockwise rub to fix it.
New dreads do need much more love & attention than older dreads. It can be overwhelming at first. Just stick to the plan. =]
Worried about your new dreads? Don't be. Just make sure they have good knots. Loose hair on the surface is no problem at all.
Dread wax is only added if all detectable wax is gone and it’s not to be added to mature dreads.
Rubberbands at the roots should never be tight - just snug - you should be able to roll them up or down the dread if you try.
Get in the habit of checking for longer hair at the roots of ur dreads. (over ½“)Clockwise rub it when you find it 2 keep things tidy.
...they can pull all the dread balls in when you’re done with a loose hair tool. This is wicked efficient. =]
Have a friend to help w/ maintenance? Have them find which dread the loose hair goes in, you can dread ball it as they find it - then.....
