"I think what he means is a synchronous network or something like that; that is, where everyone he follows is following him, and vice versa."

"I have written a nicer app for Techmeme, called Techmeme Mobile (http://www.itunes.com/apps...). It has search and a much nicer UI, and will tell you which articles are from today, yesterday, and before yesterday. It currently lacks some of the more advanced features that you mention you would like in a Techmeme app, but I think that you would be at least more satisfied with it than with “Tech News”."

"VLC's buttons are really dated-looking on the Mac. That being said, there are some really great mods of VLC available on DeviantArt that can make it suck less, UI-wise. OpenOffice.org, on the other hand, does not look good at all, even a little bit. Anything more than a cursory look will reveal the weird black boxes next to the scrollers, the dated-looking buttons used in dialog-boxes, the unnecessarily bold text in spreadsheet column/row headings, the poor, non-native font-rendering, and the user of a toolbar that has so many buttons you would think you were running a Windows/Linux app. Oh, wait, you are. I'm not really going to slam too much on OpenOffice.org Mac, because it sucks just as much on Linux. I think that people who love FOSS so much are rather like vegans: they try so hard to love something unloveable that they lose all sense of perspective on quality. “No, really, the tofu whipped cream is really great! I just can't get enough of it!”."

"And by “pretty well” on OS X we mean “totally disrespect user interface continuity in every way possible and make me want to puke”, right? :)"

"OO.org is really terrible. I tried to love it for several years, but eventually gave up. Then I tried to love Office 2007, but also gave up. I ended up falling in love with XeTeX for typesetting documents, Excel 2007 (the only good part of MSO 2007) for complex spreadsheets, iWork Numbers for simple spreadsheets, and iWork Keynote for presentations."

But being rude to a police officer at any location, be it your property or not, can get you arrested. Obama was racist to automatically assume that the police acted incorrectly, for had it been a white professor who was arrested at his own home, there would have been no problem.

That is why we always beat those European communists. We will sacrifice everything for a future, whereas they will sacrifice nothing, and demand the present.

Netbooks are mentally retarded. iPod touches and iPhones should have that rôle, and more heavy, keyboard-centered computing should be done on a Macbook or desktop Mac.

"Actually, in my experience, kids in high school generally have only the vaguest idea what Twitter is. Facebook is still where they hang out (thank God)."
