He offers this as a way to read scripts, but I'm sure it sounds like a good way to read any long e-book. I know there are programs to rotate your screen (some versions of Windows might even do it)

Advanced System Care (one of the progs mentioned here) got my computer up and running again. I spent 2 weeks running in safe mode trying to fix it.

It'd be great to have this, but there's one little problem: Twitter doesn't track if a tweet is actually a reply to another tweet or if it's just a public message to someone. It cheats by linking to the latest tweet of the person being messaged on the site, but there's nothing else.

This is actually one of the selling points for another microblogging service, Blellow, which our own Haggis works for. They have actual threaded conversations, and I'd be surprised if the threading metadata doesn't make it into their upcoming API and feeds.

Plurk also has this feature. And I'd also like to have this in FriendFeed if it was possible.
- Joseph Z.
I think it's better to avoid this feature for services which don't track or hand out threading metadata, such as Twitter. Else, there'll be even more complaints about how FF isn't attaching replies to the proper posts.

I can't handle it when people dress their dogs up in froo froo dresses and shit. All my dog had was a blue sweater, and that was for the winter. She was tiny and would get cold when she had to go outside. But dresses? Dogs aren't accessories. At least they aren't supposed to be.
Okay, I've had serious chance to sit down with the beta interface, and it seems I'm only going to find things to like about it now (other than the missing features/UI elements). Still miss the service icons, but the profile photos really help to recognize the posters/people.
The ability to post to a single entry to multiple feeds is nice. No more thinking "does this make sense in my feed or somewhere else? Where will it get the most exposure?"

I definitely miss the service icons. Who wants to have to read *words* to find out where something came from?
- Joseph Z.
That browser history remembers the state of the open comment threads is nice.

I'd rather have an option to respawn at level 1, preserving current maps and inventory

As long as we remember to save often...
- Joseph Z.
Yeah, autosave and load last saved game might not be the best - might need to go back further in life than that to recover mistakes. Lots of incremental saves might be better, though more system-intensive.
- Jandy, ConcertMaven of FF
Yes, I suppose "load last saved game" came to mind for me only because I obsessively and compulsively save my games before making any major decision. But it's true, an option to load ANY saved game would be better.

Why in fuck's name do people download BETA software and then whine about the bugs?! Despite being aware that it is actually BETA software! It's a fucking beta, you are expected to take it out for a TEST run and REPORT the bugs you find. And attacking the people who are trying to help: FUCKING FAIL!
@Lindsey, wasn't aware. Sorry if I offended you and also for the holier-than-thou attitude of the post. This issue just gets to me. I don't mean to attack anyone which is why I posted here.

I'm guilty of not reporting bugs in Beta software. But it's Beta. You can't really complain except in a general "this is cool, I wish it was out of beta NOW" way.

Every time I visit the site I get a pop up window that says "Friendfeed API" and asks for my username and password. Usually I just ignore it, but even if I put in the info it pops up again a minute later. Anyone else have this problem. I may have done something to bring this on myself, but what?
