“(1) Why is there no way to add line breaks to my posts? I like FriendFeed a lot and want to use it for my short blog entries instead of my blog. I understand FF is meant to be an aggregator of different blogs and other services where I'm active, but I'd rather just blog directly into FF.”

hmm ... good workaround. Though I'd still like to be able to do it with the bookmarklet too. - Nathan Rein
yes this is something I've requested before. Also be nice to post to more then one room at once. - Colide81 (James)
ok, as I could find this suggestion already here, I'm not going to post it again... but I really want this : being able to post at the same time to my feed and to a room (or several) with the bookmarklet - Philippe Semanaz
yeah it would be a nice and practical addition to post the same link to different rooms simultaneously. - sandhal

“Suggestion: Could we have a link on our feed pages that just shows what things other people commented on in our feeds? Like if I post something to my blog that then goes to my friendfeed and say people decide to like it or comment on it, I would just like to see all the things other people liked or...”

I had a similar suggestion. I'd like to be able to filter my "discussion" tab to exclude all my own posts where the only comment is from me. Like, when I click the "Comments & Likes" tab, I don't need to see my Delicious bookmarks where the only comment is my own description of the link. - Nathan Rein

The milkman returns to Manhattan
August 28 at 3:21 am - via Bookmarklet - Link
"All that's old is new again... Last week, we wrote about a bank that brought back the shoebox as a no-tech organizing system for their time-starved clients. Now, one of our spotters alerted us to the return of the milkman. Delivering organic milk to customers' doors in glass milk bottles, the Manhattan Milk Company is reviving old-fashioned dairy delivery. For a USD 5 delivery charge, Manhattanites can get a weekly delivery of fresh milk. The company's driver loads up his truck on Wednesdays at 4 am and delivers to all of Manhattan, picking up empty bottles when he drops off the full ones. The milk is sourced from 51 Amish farms in Pennsylvania Dutch Country, about 160 miles southwest of New York City, and is also sold at the Batch store on 150B W. 10th Street." -- www.manhattanmilk.com - Cee Bee via Bookmarklet
I wish this was available in Brooklyn, too. Maybe they'll expand. - Joseph Z.

what would also be nice is for the comments of that plurk to populate here and we could have the option to have a reply feed back to plurk, like we have with twitter. - Anika Malone
People use to be *much* more... verbose or talkative (chattative?) on Plurk because of the conversation threads. I think just a proper link from the update to the Plurk page where all replies can be easily seen would be enough. I don't want to see all those long Plurk conversations repeated here. Did you realise they even have a mute button for each thread on Plurk itself? :) It would be like importing comments from much discussed blog posts. - Rodrigo
but i the beauty is that i don't really follow the people i follow on plurk. well, not all of them. and the ones that i do, aren't very active on plurk. - Anika Malone
But you can always look for only some people's updates on Plurk and ignore the other messages, and you can do the same more easily here by receiving an update title properly linked to its page. - Rodrigo

Find the Classic Bay Ridge at Nordic Delicacies

August 24 at 6:39 am - via Bookmarklet - Link
"Nordic Delicacies opened in 1987, well after the near-complete demise of Little Norway. It nonetheless thrives not only on those of the Bay Ridge diaspora returning to stock up on foods that can’t be found this side of Minnesota, but also on a successful mail-order business. The store itself is quite small but packed with Scandinavian staples including lefse, a crepelike pancake with a potato base; lingonberry and cloudberry preserves; canned fish balls; and tubes of fish paste. Store-made treats include krumkaker, a large rolled cookie; herring salad; and Norwegian meatballs. 6909 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11209 (on Bay Ridge Avenue) 718-748-1874 " - Cee Bee via Bookmarklet

it would be far more useful if i didn't have to go to a third-party site to search...without search, FF is limited in usefulness as it doesn't give me great ways of easily discovering new people and/or groups if just starting out - Aaron McCullough
It would help if there were an index ordered by ((sub-)sub-)category. Creating a room should require to assign a category to the room. - Peter

“Don't you hate it when you click on a link to a story and spend 5 mins reading it to come back and "like" it only to find it has been refreshed and is now no longer where you just recently clicked it.”
August 4 at 6:09 pm - Link
Totally. There's a workaround: click on "Comment" so it opens a text box. It disables the auto-refresh mechanism. - Mark Trapp
Friendfeed needs less workarounds. I love it but I shouldn't have to click comment in order to know I can interact with the story after I read it or open a text editor in order to fully express my thoughts on a post. - Occasional Headbanger
@Mark Thanks! - Tai

sometimes I just make a stupid comment to keep it in the sphere of myself. not sure how to overcome this issue - ⓃⓄⒶⒽ ⒹⒶⓋⒾⒹ ⓈⒾⓂⓄⓃ
yes this is obnoxious. I won't Like something until I've looked at it in full context. perhaps FF could have a bookmarklet or control overlay that you could use on followed links? - Jon Price
yes, please allow for a) sticky messages and b) sticky tabs (between sessions). this would be a huge improvement of my FF experience! - Benedikt Koehler
Something along the lines of the following might work?: onclick: stoprefreshing, onscroll: startrefreshcountdown... mightn't be so good for those with high resolutions and no need to scroll. Alternatively onblur/onfocus might work as well. - Tai

“request: grouping of subscriptions into folders”
August 4 at 4:58 am - Link
As I am subscribed to more and more Friendfeed users, it's harder to keep tracks of things. There are people I care much about who don't share often, and their entries are on page 2 or 3 before I have time to read it. If I could organize my subscriptions in folders, one for close friends, one for family, one for heavy users, etc, and view these as subsets, that would make things a lot easier. At the moment I'm reluctant to add more contacts in fear of loosing track completely. - Peter
Another solution to keep things managable would be to separate entries from comments, the way Swurl does, but that would mean a major redesign. - Peter
I'm not the first with this request. http://friendfeed.com/e/b66223... - Peter
