I couldn't say. I don't use FriendFeed that much. -]
- Chris Loft
or you wish your blog integrated FF comments!
- Valeria Maltoni
Valeria: You could always use DISQUS third-party commenting on your TypePad blog. DISQUS now offers easy FF integration as well as slightly more complicated Facebook Connect functionality. Stowe Boyd uses DISQUS on his TypePad blog though he doesn't have the two features I mentioned switched on. http://www.stoweboyd.com/message...http://www.disqus.com
- Daniel J. Pritchett
You wish there was software specifically made for FF!
- Egyirba
have heard that lots of spam comes through Disqus and I already receive my fair share :) TypePad has not played nice with many applications, including the "share this" button. It was an innocent thing and it wracked havoc on the blog. Yes, Stowe Boyd and I had a brief exchange on Twitter on that. Thank you!
- Valeria Maltoni
Good point, V. I get plenty of spam to my blog and it's probably a lot less popular than yours. (edit: You have 40x my feedburner numbers!) There's a "report spam" feature but it still requires more effort than I appreciate.
- Daniel J. Pritchett
LOL! You gave me a good chuckle.TypePad has a very good spam filter and system (so far). 40x? Nah. I have so few comments :)
- Valeria Maltoni
Hmm. A bit over a decade ago, I remember getting momentarily confused trying for the hyperlinks in a print newspaper on the 'continued on page B3' text. It hasn't happened since. I haven't yet had the experience of looking for the 'like' button.
- Michael R. Bernstein
OT ho risposto al tuo commento...ripeto se è un problema tolgo subito il post

lol! ... hand in the air!, tho maybe somewhat still in denial....

I am in love with FriendFeed, Scoble's posts and Twitter! I have never in my entire life, loved anything like I like Social Media! I am TERMINALLY ADDICTED, with no cure in sight.
- J. D. Ebberly
someone just left a comment on this post at my blog saying there's nothing to do on FriendFeed - thought I'd share with this group. You all seem to enjoy being here :)
- Valeria Maltoni
Scoble's gone. (Let me rephrase that - Alex's brother is gone.) I'm still here, and apparently we die-hard loyalists aren't yet so few that we all know each other! Just discovered your latest article this morning - 12 reasons - I'm SHOCKED I didn't discover you long before now. But every word you wrote in this post, almost two years ago, is still true!
- Auntie Buttinsky Botts
What a nice surprise to find this thread revived. Which is also one of the strong points of FriendFeed. Things don't disappear into oblivion like Twitter, or Facebook for that matter. I find that FF allows me to be more thoughtful.
- Valeria Maltoni
A smashing success! Thanks to everyone who has participated. This is very cool. If you haven't yet, go ahead and do so. Original post here http://friendfeed.com/e...
- Mark Krynsky
Added. Surely I'm not the only FF'er in Africa?
- Neill Adamson
@Neill, that's great. You just got us to the 6th continent. I highly doubt we can hit 7 as there surely can't be someone from Antarctica that FriendFeeds.
- Mark Krynsky
The Antarctica challenge: OK, here's the plan: we need to contact Eli Duke (http://twitter.com/elisfanclub) he's tweeting from McMurdo Station, Antarctica. We have until February (some background I just found: on his 1st stint in the Antarctic he was a dish washer. In 2006 he wrote a functioning RubyOn Rails site, got burned out and tried to give it away on Craig's List...unsuccessfully--it's back online now http://listyourlist.com/ . McMurdo Photo: http://is.gd/8Ltk)
- Micah
I reshared to the Translation room to help boost your international participation.
- Shannon Jiménez
nah, friendfeed isn't a niche play. it's got dozens of users! ;)
- Jeremy Toeman
Alrighty then, I just sent Eli a tweet (http://friendfeed.com/e... ) with a plea. I hope I'm not taken for a crazy. Hmm, I know that could be my first reaction.
- Micah
@Robert: caught up with an old buddy over a cigar, bottle of wine, and a few glasses of quality bourbon. and i have to be up at 6. so i'm having fun. ;) sorry we didn't get to catch up more at the 12seconds/uservoice party!
- Jeremy Toeman
WTF!!! Nobody from India... ??? Am I the only one..:)
- Devakishor
Well I was late to this party. Great idea Mark. I have all of New Zealand to myself!
- Alistair (alpinefolk)
Turkey is on it must be. Why is Erhan Erdogan in the middle of the atlantic ocean on the map? Is he in the Bermuda Triangle or something? lol
- Alan Le
@Micah, great job on recruitment. Eli has added himself and we now have all 7 continents filled.
- Mark Krynsky
Erhan probably got moved accidentally. When I got to the page, and was moving the map, I accidently grabbed someone and moved them to the middle of the Atlantic. Thankfully, it was someone who used a special icon, so it was easy to search and put them back.
- Anika
Hmm, apparently I'm just up the road from Haggis.
- Rob H.
I just added myself. Curious - how do you get different placemarks? I like the Google-looking ones that aren't quite raindrops.
- Tamar Weinberg
Just an addendum to Spidra's explanation: To go back and edit, click the pushpin then click the "Edit" button (look waaay to the left on the page). Then you can click the icon to change, and you'll see Save button next to "Edit"
- Micah
Oh cool. Nice job reviving this guys. Hopefully we get another good round of users to add themselves.
- Mark Krynsky
Kind of frustrating to see how much time I spent on this map and then to find out someone had probably saved their changes over mine - hence mine was gone this entire time. Others should also check for this. In any event, thanks, Spidra, for the tip :) My other pet peeve is Google Maps scrolling incessantly out of nowhere. (Hi Jess.)
- Tamar Weinberg
Added myself yesterday. I notice, thought, that you have to flip to page 2 ... Can't we show all the FFers on one map, regardless of the page ?
- Ahsan Ali
"Congratulations, iPhone, you can finally join the cell phone family. AT&T announced Thursday that the long-awaited multimedia messaging would arrive on Apple's device in the United States starting September 25. The iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G will support the service, but owners of the original iPhone will miss out since that handset lacks the proper radio"

From my inbox: Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be...
Heard this from a customer the other day, but he ended it, "So don't giver her any crap." It's funnier that way.
- Jeremiah Green
In my house you have to give me the groceries to get a meal, but you can give my wife flour and sugar and she'll give you back bliss in a cookie.

I'll give her the sperm and let the government pay for the baby like all the homies do in compton.

If you give her your wallet, it will become full....... (not with money, but with bills) *ducks*

When did you start 'reading' your mail Leo? I had a lot to write to you for years but couldn't find a way to reach you. I didn't bother writing an e-mail since you repeatedly mentioned that you didn't read them at all :)

Am I the only one who thinks this quote is a bit male chauvinistic? The quote has a wrapper that appears to make women look great but underneath, it stereotypes women as a typical "wife" in a submissive male chauvinistic system. Again, my 2 cents based on a cursory reading on a hectic day.
- Krishnan Subramanian
Good point. Groceries and meal are chauvinistic, among others. Sorry, but the theme had good intent.
- Dan Barber
Hello and welcome to "Proud to be a Woman".

Very well done; I wonder how the handheld device [see 1:20] was simulated(?) animated(?). Without a "The Making of Microsoft's Vision of the future Video video," this video feels incomplete!

Terrific! Praise his imagination. I remember being chided by a teacher for not writing '9' in three rows x 3 dots the way she explained it. I did 9 dots in a row. I recall being totally confused by her reaction. Math and I were never the same from that day on.
- Kate Foy
Good for him. As a teacher - an A+ - he understood the objective and went beyond expectations by showing the pattern. All A+ work must have the unexpected element within the lesson - http://www.helium.com/knowled...
- LPH™ and his dog P™
Perhaps he got frustrated with the paper's lack of copy and paste functionality.
- Dennis O'Neil
Yes, paper is a lot like the iPhone. No copy and paste (until recently right?).
- Mike Reynolds
Excellent! What was his intention when he did this?
- Leigh
Jesse, my brother teaches high school math, and when I showed it to him tonight he said "Oh yeah, I'd give it 100%" (pssst - between you and me, he doesn't like grading, so less to look at == good ;)
- Micah
Micah, good to know - I think his teacher kind of felt the same way.
- Jesse Stay
Yunus, no, the reverse counting is due to his dumb father not able to upload images correctly and FriendFeed not being able to re-upload images. I #blamedrewscancer personally.
- Jesse Stay
yeah i was kiddng actually but his reverse 9 and 7s are are also supporting that idea :D cool kid!
- Yunus Tunak
Brilliant. I'd give him full grades if I were a math teacher.
- Chris Charabaruk
He's quite brilliant and knows he should present his work logically, I would give him a straight A+ and jump him one class
- Amit 'zyaada' Mittal
This is my father's style. Leave it blank if it's too straightforward and there is a pattern. A+.
- Burcu Dogan
I never knew that the number before 100 was PP. And I have a mathematics degree.
- James Myatt
His score has to be 64%. What is there to be unsure about? Still? Since last September?
- Mark Czerniec
That'll make a lot of kids and adults happy. :)
- James Stratford
Hooray! My mom just asked me last week why they hadn't done a Monsters Inc sequel. She'll be happy!
- Felicia Yue
I <3 Boo! ^_^ What a cutie! By the way, will she be in the sequel? Curious to know what the story will be and which characters will return.
- April Buchheit
Jess - they did Toy Story 2 before being acquired. They've always said they weren't averse to sequels if they had a really great story to tell. And finally, Disney may have purchased Pixar but it seemed to me that it was so that Pixar could "take over" Disney animation and not the other way around. So in other words, maybe/maybe not :-).
- invariant
invariant - I sort of vaguely thought that they did Toy Story 2 because it was Disney's IP and Disney was going to do a sequel (straight to video) with or without Pixar.
- Andrew C (✓)
@Andrew C - That's how I read it in the book "The Pixar Touch". It was sort of a threat that Disney was going to do it by themselves and Lasseter came back and took over.
- Andrew Smith
I really hope this is done in Pixar's soon-to-be Vancouver studio and I have *anything* to do with it.
- Andrew Smith
But Pixar said the Vancouver studio would be for shorts. Ain't nothing wrong with that, "Partly Cloudy" was terrific.
- Andrew C (✓)
iDon't have an iPhone. iTried to hate the iPhone and all of it's little iApps. But now iFind miSelf wanting an iPhone even more. iAm ashamed of my iNability to resist the iPhone's charms. iDon't like Apple much, but the iPhone is pretty iNsane....iWish that iHad money to iNvest iN an iPhone...
Wait for the upcoming new iphone to come out and snag a 3G for cheapo on the electronicBay. Or realize the folly of your ways and get a better phone ;)

I went there last summer for my anniversary. Very expensive to go to, but if you really wanted to live there, it wouldn't take much. The people there don't have a lot of money. Just a very laid back and simple way of life.

Love the photos, they are beautiful. It was nice when I visited, bu as Andru says, expensive, overly so and have had as good of times or better on other islands that were less expensive and not so far to travel.

Does this post have anything to do with the Google Wave demo? :-)

Sadly it does not have anything to do with Google Wave :)

I'd say Google Wave is way better... At least, It's free :S
