Glad you peeps liked this tip. It's certainly changed the way I use my iPhone now. Necessity is definitely the mother of invention. ;-)

I've been using this for a few days now and it's working quite well. Sometimes, the email addresses appear a beat funky to the recipients, but so far everybody's been getting their emails. How's it been for you?
- Carlos Granier-Phelps
I haven't tried the Groups app, though it's been mentioned a few times. I'll check it out now to see exactly how they deal with this issue. One thing, though, my solution is free ;-)
- Carlos Granier-Phelps
Checked out Groups and it can't do photos yet. The Camera application allows you to email up to 3 photos per message - however you can't interface the Camera app with the Groups app. There's another app called MultiPhoto that allows you to send multiple photos but not to multiple recipients.
- Carlos Granier-Phelps
UPDATED: Now works with most email services and eliminates the Invalid Address dialog box.

In its latest court filing, the Balsillie camp suggests that NHL teams hold veto rights over their home territory — something the league has denied in court — citing a recent interview with Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk on Toronto radio station The Fan 590. The veto issue was raised in the Coyotes case because Balsillie's $242.5-million (U.S.) bid for the team is contingent on a move to Hamilton — a city that falls within the Maple Leafs territory.

Even if he loses he's building a pretty good anti-trust case against the NHL.

Did Jim used to beat Gary up in 7th grade or something? Why the animosity?
- MVB (Curmudgeon of FF)
Because Hamilton and southwest Ontario's been starving for their own team for YEARS, while the Leafs charge more and more each year just so people can keep watching them lose over and over.

"As of Saturday morning, Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox had emerged as the leading contenders in a Hollywood auction of film rights to the rehearsal videos of Michael Jackson’s aborted concert tour, though other studios continued to press bids. Outcome of the auction is expected some time next week. A number of studios had been offered the rehearsal material by AEG, the company that was preparing Mr. Jackson’s tour when he died, and Sony, Fox, Paramount and Universal Pictures had all submitted bids. By Saturday, people who were briefed on the auction — who spoke on condition of anonymity, because they were not authorized to discuss it — said Fox and Sony appeared to have made the most aggressive push for the rights. Sony, according to two people, appeared to be the most likely buyer, in part because Sony Music has rights to Mr. Jackson’s music and would be in a better position than other buyers to exploit a concert film. It was not immediately clear how much was currently being offered for the rights. Bids were reported by Deadlinehollywooddaily.com to have begun at $50 million."

Rishabh, there's a ? mark after Windows 7. It's kind of hard to see. Besides, it's Einsteins opinion, not mine:)
- Michael Fidler
The differences between the two are negligible now and it really comes down to a matter of personal taste. Point being, is that they both have excellent OS's now. But we could argue about this until we're blue in the face, and still not change each other's mind.
- Michael Fidler
True! but they are both efficient for most users needs now. I'm not saying that Windows 7 is better than OSX, but my point is that it doesn't matter as much as it has in the past. And this wasn't about comparing the two of them in the first place. Notice the ? after Windows 7.
- Michael Fidler
A question mark doesn't excuse a basic logic failure. Put it this way, 5 > 3 and 4 > 3, but 5 != 4.
- Andrew C
You're totally right, but It wasn't meant to be interpreted that way. On the other hand it says that OSX = Windows 7 which is a statement, not a conclusion. It's been a long long time since I've taken a logic class, but what if it started with the assumption that both are equal? How would it play out then?
- Michael Fidler
Then you would be saying A = B & A > C & B > C and then end up with A = B... you would be restating one of your starting assumptions. The thing about that original picture is, a logical argument usually is constructed of one or more statements which lead to a conclusion: A > B and B > C, therefore A > C. (with axioms of transitivity and such assumed. {handwaving} ) So it seems to be...

I'd apologize for nerding it up, but this thread is about OSes and has a picture of Einstein and a logical argument. =)
- Andrew C
It's OK , and I can see how I wrote it as an equation, just as Einstein would have. Had I put more thought into it, I could have done something else to make the same point. It was just meant to be fun, and not taken literally. I though comparing OSX and Windows 7 might rattle some feathers, but I didn't expect this to be a refresher course in Logic. I actually wrote something different at first, but there's only so much space, and it looked funny having chalk on his suit sleeve:)

To get back to what you said about Chrome being as good as the other OS's, remains to be seen. With a ton of work it might be a killer OS, but Gazelle is under development, too, And Microsoft openly address’ the obstacles which currently stand in their way. Finally, if Scoble is correct, then all of this was simply PR which was rushed out ahead of Microsoft’s coming announcement this...

- Michael Fidler
I don't think Chrome OS is really comparable to Win 7 or Mac OS X. It's more in the realm of iPhone OS, Palm Web OS, or Android. I guess it's exactly like Gazelle. Except it's open source.
- Victor Ganata
Victor, Agreed, and that's why it's not a threat to Microsoft. But if you want to laugh, read the link I left just above your post.
- Michael Fidler
the inference is.. OS X > Windows 7 > Google Chrome OS
- Gtp19
Well atleast it takes the heat off Microsoft.

If you import your Twitter feed into FF it would be cool if you could filter what tweets came into FF. For example, if a tweet was an @reply I would like that removed from my stream. Regular tweets or retweets on the other hand would be fine to come into FF.
I don't mind so much the retweet, because someone on FF may still value what I'm retweeting. But I definitely agree on the @reply. Would be nice to see those filtered out.
- Josh McConnell
Josh - yeah definitely. RT are valuable so I would want them to come into FF. But simple @replies back and forth with someone are not really valuable and clogs up my stream.
- Mike Bracco
Oh, sorry, I definitely read your initial post wrong. I thought you said you DID want to see RT's filtered. My bad! I agree with you 100% then.
- Josh McConnell
Josh: no worries, sorry for being ambiguous - I just reworded the post :)
- Mike Bracco
I'd love to get rid of all the extra stuff (like twitterfeed) and keep just the direct messages (but I don't think it is part of their output feed).. (see http://ff.im/4Hmt2)
- Chris Myles
Filtering @replies has been asked several times. Although everytime I'd agree that it would be a cool feature to have the option to "hide all @replies"

"Why does Major League Baseball use an outdated, misleading camera angle to show the batter and pitcher?"
- Brad Williamson
from Bookmarklet
Good question. The strike zone boxes that ESPN and FOX use are a help, but the dead center angle works nicely, especially in HD. Split the screen, and use the other parts to show a baserunner or the batter in profile.
- Bill Sodeman
I'll have to watch the next Rays-Red Sox game on NESN, just to see the dead center camera angle.
- Bill Sodeman
You have my full sympathy, and compliments for a very brave post.

Like Leo said, wishing you both the best as you transition into this new phase -- both personally and professionally. Your contributions to the community are amazing and I hope you continue to push forward enriching the lives of geeks and non geeks alike across teh tubes and internets.
- Brian Daniel Eisenberg
Nothing more to add to Leo's comment. All the best to both of you!
- Holger Eilhard
Sorry to hear of this, but you do what you must for the both of you to be happy.
- JA Castillo
Well, I don't know you personally or professionally, but, I'm still sorry you are hurting. Hoping you two are able to get through this amicably.
- Yolanda
My condolences, Chris. As a long-time community member, I must credit you to share this information. It's never easy going through this kind of thing, but I hope all turns out well.
- David Ford
Sad to hear this; hope everything works out for you both.
- Andrew Terry
Chris, there's no formula for how to handle the public side of this, but your post seemed sufficient and decent. All the best (to everyone involved) during this difficult time.
- Micah Wittman
Whoa, so sorry ot hear that Chris. Damn.
- Josh Haley
you're still a healthy good looking if a little quirky fella - you've got plenty of relationships to look forward to :)
- Zee.
I wish you both the best, whatever happens. You've always come across as a strong guy, and your community will always be there to support you.
- deakaz
I'm so sorry for you both. It's never an easy thing; harder still to say it in public. My best wishes go with you both.
- Karoli

:-( I'm sorry, Chris. Warm thoughts and hugs to both of you.
- Ladybug Heather
Guess it's finally time for us to get drunk and hug awkwardly.
- Akiva Moskovitz
Wow. Not much to add other than sorry to hear because I know it has to have been a rough time making that decision and then going through with it. Good luck to both of you. I hope things look up from here.
- Lindsay is in 20-ten
Sorry to hear about that, good luck, I am sure it is very difficult to go through.
- Andrizzle Gizzle
Take things one day, one step, even one BREATH at a time. You will make it, Chris!
- Now Voyager
I went through this last year - it's not easy, and it's an emotional roller coaster, but you have to believe that happiness and peace lies on the other side. Best of luck.

Right, it would be nice if Google would expose its archived street views and aerial views. Could be used for all sorts of mashups and comparisons (remember Google Earth's pics of New Orleans, before and after Katrina).

How to tell who the good guys are, by Andrew Sullivan. "They're the ones who sometimes rescue a beleaguered riot policeman." Great point! RT @rizzn - http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_dai...
To be honest, I frequently forget to look at both sides of the equation during periods of violence.
- Bob Blunk
Bob: A good thought - I wonder how many of those riot police really would rather be on the other side?
- Alex Hellstrom
he could be performing a judo hip throw. video is probably needed to verify the picture.

@Alex i wondered about the same thing. They are in a profession where most of the times they have to probably go against their choice to perform their duty. Not an easy task i must say.

Coming from the tail end of the hippie generation I suppose causes me to seek out the other side, especially in times of violence, I'm loving this pic, and what wre seeing from younger generations in Iran.

They're both Iranians: brothers, countrymen. I'd love to see the greens prevail, but I hope the violence doesn't last.

Keep up the great job Robert, you are helping to report what is going on better than our own state run media.

Now this is an amazing photograph, serving as a great reminder that humanity is capable at once of both terrible and great things. I hope it is one of assistance, much as that very moving video above showed.
- Nick Wade
the video is great, too. shows that, even at crazy times, there are good-hearted people acting to protect anyone in need. i wonder how often this has been happening over the last few days.
