Did Scoble #2 regenerate from an arm of Scoble #1?

Sean, are you calling me a black hole? or just an a-hole? ;)
- Jeremiah Owyang
I've noticed that a lot of my favorite social media peeps are spending more time on FF so I'm just trying to follow the conversation...
- Aaron Strout
The community. I have a very different network here and the people seem to be more communicative and interactive here versus other lifestreaming sites. I've just picked up my activity recently
- Jennifer Leggio
What are these other sites of which you speak?
- David Young
Nearly all of my friendfeed use comes from it being permanently docked on my iGoogle homepage.
- trextor
Because I like the design and the other sites don't offer what Friendfeed does in feeds I can stream.
- Colide81 (James)
David young, we do not speak of such sites
- Jeremiah Owyang
@Jesse can you ff comment from Twhirl? if (so) then wow();
- Brian Hendrickson
Brian I'm commenting from Twhirl right now.

Yeah but you're missing out on these sweet little ajaxy comment boxes -- easily the best thing about ff. I've been working on my own with jeditable/jquery <geek>and I also made them scaffoldable from any my/pg schema</geek>

Those other places, even when having a great feaure set, still lack the community - the community is the key, not the feature set - and Twitter is another prove.

I think it's the mix that makes me use FriendFeed the most of all lifestream-apps. The new beta is amazingly helpful with the list function etc. And it has the community that I'm interested in. So it's basically the best place for me to stay uptodate on the discussion in the websphere.
- Johannes Kleske
community and real dialogue, snippets drive me crazy
- R. Ferguson
@Svetlana if you look at any ff profile, you can see 10 icons for the places a person calls home, I don't think the community at any one site is its defining feature. Instead, I think "conversation" is the feature -- ff excels at drawing conversation from many places. It's the best at that. Also what Rahsheen said about familiarity, which I think plays heavily into everything -- who we elect as president, for instance.
- Brian Hendrickson
Brian, I beg to differ. There are ppl on this list that I expect to "talk" to everyday.
- R. Ferguson
What I was trying to say is that the community is spread all over, those of us doing this stuff are using many sites, for the most part we don't just pick one and live there. Look at Twhirl, it's to-the-moon feature is that you can jump around and talk to a ton of different sites at once, even sites behind your firewall. I may still be failing to make a good point, I accept that. But social media viewers are trained for many many channels of info and readily spread their presence pretty thin.
